That should be a Mazda M5R2, and the correct bellhousing as well.
You didn't state if 2WD or 4WD. 2WD, no it won't work. 4WD will work.
Do NOT use the flywheel from the 300, it isn't balanced to match the V8.
Could be a zf behind that I6. Not factory but I've read where people have swapped them out. Just verify which it is.
As to the holes being drilled out...not sure if that was only for the M5R2's behind the 4.2L or all of them. Verify before drilling and like was said don't drill the alignment pins.
The swap isn't bad I just finished mine. Lots of small thing to overcome. Big thing is crossmember. BC didn't have any so I built my own. Driveshafts need modifying. Hydraulic clutch and twinsticks. Bracket in the kit needs modifying to work with twinsticks.
Also... 95 has the shifter location in a forward position where the 97 and up have it moved back several inches. Top covers can be swapped if needed. I installed a 2000 model
