So, my painter removed the plate on the firewall that goes under or between the master cylinder and or brake boost bracket. I had ask him to grind down the edge but he removed it completely.

I have a new one, but after looking at a buddies I don't see how they are originally attached? I don't see any spot welds at all?

Magic, rust or some type of old panel bond type product? I realize they are bolted on as well but even without bolts they seem to be bonded on?

Ok, well that explains it. They must not be visible on all of them but surely are welded.

I think I will just use panel bond if anything at all.

Yeah, that plate is supposed to be permanently affixed. Definitely welded. Mine stayed on through sandblating and everything.
