I've had the same problems getting the door to close and have found most info is geared to address this problem. A bigger issue is the fact that few seals actually seal. A thread that comes from a different direction that looked better to me here;https://classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=305785. The selection on Amazon covers even more types of weather stripping that works without glue and stays put. New vehicles have all gone this route.

Closing door not the issue. Seals Need replacing. Want to avoid cheap Chinese knock offs.

On top of the door closing issue, I found that when sitting in the Bronco I can see through to the street with the doors shut. The gap is near the limiting straps. The point is, that even when the door closing issue is resolved, there is reason to doubt any sealing is happening. So weather seals that don't seal aren't worth much. That's what the thread from 10-15-20 addressed here;https://classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=305785. Even trailer queens need to be somewhat weather proof. Wind noise is cut down with good seals too.
