how to get in a stuck tuffy console?

ok so i just bought this truck from my friend and he evidently put a sweater in the center console and its now stuck closed. any idea how to get it open?

Call Tuffy tomorrow and ask away. Is it stuck because it's jammed or you guys don't have the keys or?

i think jammed, the key works on the glove box and i assume the center console he said its stuck. figured i'd call tuffy tomarrow just never hurts to ask ya know

If it were me, the first thing that I would try is crawling underneath and unbolting the console from the nuts on the indersie of the floor. Take it out and there should be some small bolts holding the floor of the console in. That would gain you access to the inside. But from there is the usual deal with a jammed latch.

slide the pin out of the panio hinge. Open backwards.

i thought about that but there are pin stops on both sides so without damaging the box that isn't possible

They must have updated there design. I remember years ago that was how to get into them when they jammed.

small die grinder on one end. then try to pull the hinge pin out.
once is out one could mig well a bit on it.

Or just center punch the pin on the end to keep it from sliding out if you don't have a welder.
