Hey there - Looks nice, but if I may ask, why did you do it? The original gaskets are available. Are you just looking for a different look? Thanks

glad to see im not the only glass guy close to the bronco community.. i take it your dads in the business ... i did the same with my top . i used greylite 14 tempered glass, in the back.. its a black (privacy glass) update us on the windshield if it handles flex, may do the same to my windshield.. may also put the greylite 14 in the doors, gotta block as much sun as possible in az... it looks good....

i have the greylight tempered ordered for the doors and the w/s is greylight the inside looks good to me i took some pics for you to see you can see the urrithane but it isnt as bad as the gasket check out the pics
as far as the holding up i think it will be fine i drove the bronco thru the dragon tail 2 days ago and had no problems no cracks he left about 1/8 around the frame and mad it flush with the metal

when i do the next one i am going to weld the corners and possibly add some to the pinchweld just so that there is a little more to glue to there the bigest trick is getting it cut to size correct and polished edges then you just prime the edge and shoot the glue to it (urathane) i was also able to use the heep wiper convert with 15" blades that makes a big diff

I do agree on getting the right size and polish... i didnt trust my manufacturer to cut and polish from a pattern, i bought oversize, cut to fit, and had it tempered,, saved a bunch in fab costs.... i cut straight lines on my side glass for the top, it looks good but the lift gate has a slight arch on the top, i installed any way, next time id cut in the arch, just to get it perfect.. let me know how the greylite 14 fits in the door, and how the wing windows went back together if your doing them...... i think factory thickness is 3/16, not 1/4,, ????

I likey, Looks very cool. The only thing i would question is when your driving down the freeway at 70 mph in a driving rain(essentially 70 mph hurricane winds) does the fact that there is and exposed joint facing the wind and rain(factory seal has the joint above and below, water must turn many 90 degree turns to get in the cab) lead to an eventual migration of water into the cab?? maybe a thin trim piece on top of the seam? I don't know, just asking???

Wow that looks great!!! If you were at supercel I hate I missed seeing your truck. There were just too many to take in. I like the flush glass. Great job.

well too late to turn back now
It is at the glass place, the windshield is out, and the first coat of primer is on the frame.

They didn't have time to cut the glass while I was there, and they told me they want to keep it overnight just to make sure the urethane totally cures

Picking it up in the morning

Looks great and this came about at just the right time as I have been debating changing out all my glass as the cheap tint job is starting to bubble going to keep an eye on this

1 tha is how they are doing alot of new cars and i dont think it will be a problem
2 if your bronco is completly water proof i need to come check it out i didnt think that you could make one that didnt leak a little

plus the cool factor is way better than wory of a little water in there with you i think

well got mine done
IT CAME OUT LIKE CRAP
Allmost 1/4 inch gap on the sides, the top and bottom are ok

After I picked it up, went and made my own template for the window. Went back to the shop and compaired it to there template, and it was allmost 1/2 inch smaller than the one I made.

Got a Appoitment to go back monday, and having them redo mine

here are pics of the crappy job

My friend owns a auto glass shop, and he says they have thin black trim for around the window too that lays flat to cover the gap. He is going to do this exact same thing to my street rod Bronco. I will have to make a note of the type of glass you guys are referring to.

No it is flush, that not a problem. the problem is there is a 3/16 gap at the top of the dode, and by the time it gets to the bottom it is at least 1/4 of a inch gap.

We agreed I am going to make a template for them to use, and if it breaks it will be my resonsabiliy. I am going to leave a 3/32 to1/8 inch gap all the way around

I talked to Todd in Maine who is going to make a stainless trim piece to go all the way around the window. Then polish it for me
