Ford 9" - longer axle - which side?

Which side does the longer axle shaft go into?

15 min of searching and I can't find the answer. Sure somebody knows off the top of their head.

The passenger side is longer.

Exactly. Would have taken a lot less than 15 minutes to figure that out by simply installing them ;)
I seriously doubt that! I'm the kind of guy who likes to make things fit! So this is a huge help knowing the right orientation from the start... ;D

My wife refers to me as a bull in a china shop as I'm constantly breaking things...

I guess it would be possible to put the short one on wrong side then find out the hard way on the other side!

Trial and error is a good way to learn - but I digress, I'm extra careful with shiny new parts too!

Yeah, but if you happen to do the long side first, Confucious say when axle stick out, bull in China shop use bigger hammer. ;D
