Picked this up over 3 years ago for a build for my wife...oops 72 not 73
Finally got around to it about 6 months ago

Bought new rockers, a pillars driver and passenger floor pans, inner genders on both sides... replaced the body mounts also found a top for it the original was smashed...
Had the driver replaced but still need to weld it in
It’s 302 c4 from factory and I got it to run!! But I picked up a 93 351w block with efi to rebuke and put in...

Nice work. I just finished doing the same work to mine. It’s so rewarding when it’s done.

Is this the smog pump? Or air pump? If so do I need a new bracket to delete it ?

Real nice. Could you detail the order in which you replaced the sheetmetal?
Something like this...
-inner rocker
-kick panel
-inner fender
-floor
-A pillar

micked - Thats a smog pump. Just take it off. No need for a Delete pulley.

The serpentine system will fit very similar to the original Bronco at the same depth. You can even use the Bronco Radiator and Fan shroud with slight trimming. New radiator hoses will be needed, they are at opposite sides now with the Serpentine. A 1/2" Spacer and a 17" Mechanical fan will tuck in nicely.

Use the timing cover for the 351w, it is serpentine specific, and all the rest will bolt up.

A Edelbrock Performer Intake will work great for a Carburetor or Throttle body EFI.

A 1" Body Lift is also recommended to help with clearance for the taller 351W.

I would also re-wire your truck unless in EXCELLENT condition. Almost 50 years old.

This is awesome
Thank you!! Yep new wiring is going in when the motor goes in... hopefully with a 4r70w but the c4 works so not sure if I will replace once the c4 dies or when I put the 351w in

How do you get the hard top to go in easier and further in... I have a huge gap between lift gate and tailgate... this is a different hard top than the original....

Hard Top - It looks like the Corner Posts are still in the rear corners of the Top. These are actually Not needed. They are probably not straight or tweaked a little so they do not go down fully into the corners of the body.

Loosen the bolts that hold the posts to the Top itself. Maybe they can wiggle down some? If not, lift up Top again and take the Posts off, then retry.

I would only install the 4R70W if you drove the truck on the highway often. If you do get the 4R70W that's another reason to install the 1" Body Lift.

Got it to run today!!!

I filmed it... ran better than the video I shot...

So it would on run with gas in the carb

Fuel isn’t getting to the carb

Could be fuel pump, filter or it had two tanks I took the auxiliary tank out but left the lines and the switch... the switch is different than my old 75 I had... seems electronic... it may think it’s still switched in the position for the auxiliary tank

Will jettison all the lines for the aux tank tomorrow and put in a new fuel filter tomorrow and see how it goes and if it doesn’t work then I’ll change the pump... any other suggestions

I tried to post the video of it running but not sure how...

Engine is running like a champ idles smooth

Shift the c4 and nothing

The linkage is hooked up... well I think any ways I can move it through the gears but when truck is idling no grinch or nothing...not sure why it didn’t do anything

T case shifts into neutral because I can push it

Not sure where to go from here

Drain the c4 and replace vacuum modulator

Hey micked, let me know if you want to get rid of that air pump.
If that air pump (Ford calls it a Thermactor pump) is still good shape I'll buy it from you.
Been meaning to order a rebuilt for my '93 anyway because it's rattling pretty bad. If yours spins smoothly without the vanes rattling around inside, it might still be in good shape. If not, you might still turn it into a local parts store as a core for their rebuilders. Kind of a favor to them as the cores are probably getting to be slim pickins if they're like the older ones were.

Let me know. No hurry, as it'll probably take me another six months to "get 'round to it" if you know what I mean.%)

Thanks!

Paul
