V8 Clutch push rod bushing?

I purchased the bronze clutch fork push rod bushing from WH, and it fits inside the pushrod, but won't go over the equalizer bar stud, and would be too tall to clear the retaining pin hole in the same stud even if it did....so wondering, were there different versions of equalizer bars? And the pushrod definitely needs a bushing with the slop, but where can you find those if this one won't work?

The equalizer bar pin/stud is not mushroomed out or deformed as far as I can tell.

Thanks as always for any thoughts.

I had the same issue, and couldn’t find the correct one. I ended up grinding the bushing smaller till I was able to get the pin in If you find the correct one Please share

I got rid of that loop end and the bushing on the adjuster by attaching a coupling nut and heim joint to the adjuster bullet. I also put heim joints on both ends of the rod to from the pedal to the Z-bar.
It's a really smooth clutch pedal.

Well sorry to hear you guys are having trouble with one of our parts. Anybody have pics of the issue so I can pass it on?
And yes, there were at least two versions of the Z-bar setup, but as far as I know it was only an "early '66" vs the rest kind of thing. So should not effect anyone's install unless theirs was swapped out for, or you already have an early '66 model Bronco.
But even then, the pin was thought to be the same size.

Marshall, was your bushing also too small to slide over the pin? If so, by how much? Same to you PDQ. Anything like a tiny bit of reaming with a hand-turned drill bit or sandpaper would take care of it? Or would it need more reaming and with some power like with a drill motor?

And just in case they're tapered, did you try it both ways, flipping the new bushing over?

Thanks. And again, sorry for the hassle. Let us know what's up and we'll take care of it.

It’s all good Mine fit over the pin. It was just too long for me to get the cotter pin in I had to grind it smaller, I took a lot off. But I can’t remember exactly how much

Thanks for the replies and always feels better when you find you were not the only one.

Thanks Paul, I did not get pictures until I just worked on it. The pin diameter I have is .392 and the inside bushing diameter was .375. I ended up drilling it out to get it to fit and then filed the overall length down do get it to clear the spring clip hole. I took off 1/4 or likely a little less, but it wasn't close.

If anyone does have a link to another original style or correct bushing please post.
