Broken C4?

Not uncommon but rare. That could be a result of not getting the Tq converter all the way on, the insert, clunk, turn a bit push it on further. Problem is, it also could mean inside tranny, the pump housing is probably broken. You'll need a new torque converter and tranny opened for inspection. Good news, everything is repairable.

When install, did or were you able to push tranny onto engine block, or did you need to use the bolts to tighten it together?

Can you turn the input shaft? Maybe something is locked up in the trans.

Sorry for your troubles with the C4, definitely keep us updated on how it turns out. I am interested in how Gearstar responds to the warranty, I have a quote for a 4R70W but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Good luck!

Everything lined up perfect, I remember reading about how far in the tq is in the bellhousing, etc it was my second time putting a c4 in, so I'm definitely not a professional by any means

sure, but you do recall needing to insert TQ conv, then turning it to get it to fall even further?

you mean downward or into tranny push? 2 drops?

any chance you got a line pressure check while it was running? That would verify pump working

All,
Final update, I sent the transmission back to Gearstar, they serviced it and rebuilt the torque converter, there was an issue on their end where the input shaft did not insert all the way in, ending up with a stripped input shaft and the female end on the TQ.
They sent a video with them servicing and a final video once complete and on their dyno.

Great customer service, and I spoke with Ryan Steele, their Vice President the entire process.
