Trying to use my Bronco more now. I really don't listen to radio much but I love a good podcast etc. or other streaming stuff for a drive.

As far as my interior goes, It is stock. I don't want a console etc. What is a minimalist receiver and speaker set up that is loud enough for a drive? Maybe something I can install in the glovebox etc. Looking for caveman simple that sounds ok. I'd rather not spend a bunch, just something that sounds decent that I can hook up to my phone.

Check out Retrosound... they have a model that mimics the original am only unit, fits in the original 3-hole dash layout.

I got mine from WIld Horses in Lodi.

Ok. I have no holes in my dash. I need to research this more. Probably just need a bluetooth speaker system or something.

I like the kicker soundbar, but it is 500 bucks.

So... I have an LBC (Little British Car) and like to listen to music but needed the original radio location for gauges. I used a Blaupunkt BT amp mounted in the trunk and a separate BT controller that adheres to the dash. The amp is powerful enough for four speakers, was about $100 and works well. The controller is hit and miss but was <$20. Atlanta radio sucks so I use my iPhone for music and podcasts.

Ok. So I can get a sound bar that basically directly connects to my phone when I get in the vehicle. Or the BroncoJimbo style that talks to the amp which powers the speakers.

This is making sense to me. Is there like a $100 type of sound speaker that connects and is loud enough for an uncarpeted EB? I have quiet tires and exhaust but it can be loud still.

I just want simple and effective.

Look into Fusion marine stuff. I use them in my golf carts but I have friends with decently expensive boats that use the same stuff. I was able to get all mine off amazon. Small head units that would easily fit in a glove box or in a simple box on the trans tunnel. Good quality waterproof speakers. No need for an external amp if you just want to run 2 or 4 speakers.

Turtle box ranger. Small, loud, and also has magnets so you could mount it under the dash and easily remove. Use your phone blue toothed to listen to what you want. This will be my plan...

I've got a jbl wave 5 I think, laying on the tunnel in frt of the 4wd shifter, BT with 4" passive radiators on the ends, tweeters in the center..it's about the size of a football...it's in a 69 half cab with carpeting only, raspy exhaust and it sounds great/I hear it fine at 60...got it off Amazon for around $200.
