My BaT rant...
Been watching BaT for years. Even sold a truck there once. Generally good going through stuff. There are plenty of restomod/custom/restored vehicle. A lot of flippers. Read the description and the seller has only owned if for 6 months and the work done is mostly stuff to get it ready to sell. And there are some dealers in there as well.
Besides the (re)built vehicles, there is a lot of general stuff. Pretty mundane rides, in pretty good shape. Survivors. Sprinkle in the one family (often the owner has had it a few months as if they inherited it) survivors, or someone who has had a very long (multi-decade) ownership. This is the stuff I generally find cool.
Few weeks ago I tried to list my father's boat. They have a boat category (as well as aircraft and trains). I set my father up his own account. Did the photo and video shoot. Filled in all the details. Should be the classic BaT 1-owner vehicle for sale. Bought new, stored indoors, and under a cover while indoors. 40 year old boat, all the documentation it is the original owner. Original sales invoice, brochures, etc. Interior is perfect, 300 hours on the clock, start and cruise videos. Throwback to late 80's midwest boating. Right down to matching vintage skis. Other boats listed were a gutted and rotting cigarette boat, although famous for setting a speed record in the day, relisted after the buyer didn't realize how junk it really was. There was also a 2007 aluminum boat. So a well documented, 1-owner, super clean and functional 1986 boat should be a good auction. The survivor as these boats were super common back in the day, but have all been rode hard, put away wet, neglected, left to rot in the sun, and they just don't exist anymore. They passed on it. There "curated" collection (of flippers and used car lots) wasn't interested. I really questioned that as there was a '91 Escort LX wagon automatic with a replacement title, carfax that showed a rolled over odometer, but that was in the auction. I read between the lines that is they are interested in catering to the flippers and dealers more than actually selling cool pieces of nostolgia at affordable prices.
