I pulled the roll bar out of storage that I had previously tacked together, added some seat belt shoulder mount tabs, a bottom cross bar and welded it up. Still planning to add a bracket on each upright tube to anchor to the tub sides to stiffen those up as well as a mount for a windshield frame brace bar.

Then I started fitting and mounting the used set of rock sliders tasker found for this project. Working on the driver's side first, trimmed a little off the ends, added a couple mounting holes and pre fit it up on there. Not too bad and feels pretty solid. Still need to weld up a few extra holes, do the same to the passenger side and they will get different fasteners down the road.

Sorry, no dry yellow yet, the old faded fenders will have to do for right now. 😁 Wasn’t really able to work on it the past couple of weeks.
Getting back on it, I managed the cutting and fitting of the passenger side rock slider.

It's been a while since any updates here, other priorities have kept me from the fun stuff but we're back at it. Nothing major yet, but here's a look at the new fuel filler set up that's been in the works. You see, this tub has issues fitting the factory style fuel filler neck in the quarter panel. The inner wheel tub doesn't leave enough space for it to fit. There was something there when the tub arrived but I don't remember exactly what it looked like, most likely it was tossed because it was an ugly hacked together piece. So anyway, we tried a few different filler necks to no avail and considered cutting, welding and piecing bits together. Ultimately I decided what if we just move it to the back with a custom piece since the "tailgate" is non functional. The plan started out with a fancy custom filler and cap with the idea of bending and fitting tubing down below, but after a while I felt that the custom cap was a little sub par and would probably just cause issues down the road. Sticking with the plan I went on the hunt for something a bit better. Found this nifty little setup and best of all it's all original Ford parts.

May be more user friendly if the cap swings sideways. (Pump handle cap interference)
I don't know... that's how it is on the Mustang. Plus, I'll never have to worry...won't be the one filling it!
If tasker can't handle it he has the option to replace it with a regular cap:cool:

I remember filling cars back in the 70's, and these were always a pain.
It would be easier to rotate the cap assembly 90° before paint.
At least Taskers gas tank won't be the floor, in a Bronco.

I like the way that looks! Good job Migs!! Thanks for the progress updates . There are lots of people around the whole country that are watching this build because of who Randy is and what he means to the Bronco community. Also our attachment to "Paid For" alot of us have never known one without the other. Its great to see the Bronco getting it's well deserved makeover , its great to see Randy getting to continue on with a quality rig he has a long history with.

Its also great to see your obvious talent restoring these old Broncos and willingness to put it out there for us to follow along with. I just wanted to say thanks and to you and let you know yor appreciated!
