Did early 66-67 Broncos Use Firewall Insulation?

My '67 Roadster has been painted and I 'm starting to put it back together. I don't remember it having a firewall insulation pad, but maybe it crumbled away over the last 57+ years. I know there were some oddities with the 66-67 models. Can anyone confirm whether the pads were used in those years?

Any of the Bronco parts houses have a very nice insulated pad. I put one in my 68 over 20 years ago . It’s a must have

Can’t say if they were always there, but I thought they were.
Plenty of 66 owners here. Someone should know.

There 'ya go! Guess I never spent enough time under the dash of early-Earlies.
Though "my '68" had insulation, it was a DynaMat type stuff installed by 904Bronco before I got it.
It's nice and full coverage, but with the Bronco's design, it's probably still not enough. Only reason I can see to NOT have any insulation then, would be if you're doing a religious restoration to sell.
If you're going to drive it and live with it, insulate the crap out of it!

Now I am wondering if it was something like roadsters didn't get it, or it came with the V8 due to heat then changed to they all get it?

How many ’66’s has Okie had over the years?
Wonder if this is something that he’s tracked.

I've never seen it on any 66'. Not sure that I've seen it on any 66-77 though actually.

My 71 has it. My friends 72‘s had it.
Can’t remember if I’ve seen it on a 70 or older or not. Maybe Ford changed it when they moved the fuse panel from the floor to the glove box.
Anybody ever had to work around insulation while dealing with their early fuse panel?

Yes, my '69 had the original insulator on it until I replaced it at some point in the past few decades (and of course the original fuse block is still on the firewall).

Good to know that Ford didn’t have to wait for five years to figure out that it was needed!
Now we just have to find some more unmodified 67s and 68s to put a timeline on this.
