    Questions about 4x4 C5 trans

Does anyone know anything about the trans output shaft and transfer case adapter used in mid-80's 4x4 rangers and bronco II with the C5? I've found that the output shaft is only about 1" longer than the C4 4x4 shaft but don't know if the splines are the same. If they are is there any reason it...

    Monday trail ride

I took the bronco up to Bill Moore lake to exercise it some yesterday. I had to make sure everything's working good for the upcoming big game season. I tell you what, that place is absolutely empty on a Monday. Well, empty except for an occassional 4-legged native. It's probably the last time...

How do you like my electric fan?

This is from a 2004 Jeep Liberty that my girlfriend used to have. I upgraded it to the towing/HD cooling and this old fan became excess. It fits the RD radiator almost like it was made for it. I've submitted a tech article to Jon already. I've been using this fan for the last month and it has...

    5.0 EFI mileage report

Well I've worked enough of the bugs out of my 5.0 to get my first look at fuel mileage data. On my first measured tankful I went 301 miles (GPS measured) on 22.3 gallons, or 13.5 mpg. This tank was 75% in town driving with one small bit of 4-low trail action (4-5 miles). I had a stuck open...

    4.11 or 4.30

Ok, it's time for me to re-gear. I have 3.50 gears and 33's, 5.0 EFI and a C4 (both fresh and strong). I'll probably keep my current tire size for years. I take long trips and do some towing (1,000-2,500 lbs) during hunting season. Most of my towing will be up in the mountains. I know 4.11 gears...

    It's Alive!

My 5.0 EFI finally roared to life tonight and it sounds mean. Didn't think I'd ever see the day when that would happen. I pieced the motor together a little at a time over the last couple years. Minor exhaust leaks and water leak at the drain to fix tomorrow. Now I need to get some celebratory...

    Explorer PS pump bleeding tip

I have my 5.0 in and am working to get everything hooked up. I got the PS system plumbed and added fluid but it only took about 1 pint. I knew there was plenty of air in the external cooler so I thought of a way to get it out. The pump has a 1/4" hex slot on the shaft so I disconnected the belt...

    What's a good seam sealer?

I need to do some sheetmetal work. What kind of seam sealer is good?

What's a fair price for a barnyard Stroppe?

I originally saw this bronco 5 years ago and it has not moved since. Looks like no one lives at the house where it sits so I talked to a neighbor about it today. I got the owners name and number and am going to give him a call. Anyone know what these things go for in original but neglected...

    F-150 HP fuel pump question

Does anyone know which end is the inlet or outlet and which terminal is pos or neg? One terminal is bigger than the other. There are no markings what-so-ever on this thing.

    Any geocachers out there?

Just wondering if anyone else is into it. Here's a cache I placed before I moved to Colorado. It's a little early in the season there but I guess it can be found now...probably due to global warming...

    window regulator bushing

Here's a good tip. If you break the plastic window reg bushing and need a replacement quick go to a vintage mustang parts shop and pick one up there. I just picked a couple up today at Colorado Mustang and they were $1.25 ea. Now I can close the window that's been open for the last 3 years.

    BCB headers and AFR heads

Well I got my BC Broncos headers in the mail today and they are super nice. However, I mocked them up to my AFR 165's and found I have a problem. The bottom of the header flange interferes with the unmatchined portion of the heads. This causes the bolt holes to be mismatched by about 3/16 in. I...
