    Grille Letter Colors

I have seen two broncos now with the "Ford" grille emblems that are black with chrome trim around them. Does anyone know where I can find them? I can only seem to find red or blue with either black or chrome trim. I have see all satin black ones for sale too but not black with the chrome. Thanks.

66 U13 Restomod - Build Thread - Looking for YOUR input

Tom's impact bumpers came in and I have to say, I am in love. For the technical side, I ended up with about a 1 5/8 body lift in the front and about a 1 1/4" in the rear. I HATE broncos with large bumper to body gaps so I spoke to Toms and they recommended I order the bumper with the 2" - 3"...

    1974 with a Dana 30 front axle

@DirtDonk Every time I come with some sound advise on this forum, Obi Wan comes in and uses the force against me :ROFLMAO: Good point on testing it on the ground first, certainly would sniff out the famous broken frame at the steering box or pitman arm / drag link problems.

    1974 with a Dana 30 front axle

Maybe replacing everything isn't a bad idea but in my mechanical experience, I try to stick to only addressing the issue and have caused more issues throwing parts at things than i would like to admit. I would typically say to jack the front in the air, get a friends help working the steering...

    1974 with a Dana 30 front axle

Welcome dude! I'm the guy that sold you the top. Yea you can tell it's a 30 by the kingpins on top of the knuckles with the small bolts as opposed to the ball joints on top of the 44 knuckles. My thoughts are to order axle parts for a pre '71 so you know they will fit. You'll find the guys here...

'67 Bronco "3-on-the-tree" Not shifting Gears

Not sure if this is the answer you are looking for but I grew up driving my dads bronco which was 3 on the tree with worn out bushings and it would often get hung up in the middle of the H pattern between gears. When shifting between 1st and 2nd, you would have to wiggle it in the middle of the...

Advice on lining body panels up

@DirtDonk My entire cowl is crooked as in not level. The driver side sits about 1/2" higher that the passenger side. A reputable bronco builder had another one at his shop that had the same exact condition as mine and he seems to think it was likely manufactured that way. We found some ways to...

    Two-piece Doors and Window Guides

I'm a little confused of your question but I will tell you this. I believe the later doors came with welded in window frames instead of bolt it frames. Someone I know who is a reputable bronco body builder prefers to weld them in over bolt them in, so they don't move later etc. I would worry...

Advice on lining body panels up

If it makes you feel any better, she is looking pretty good at the moment. I ended up getting help from a local bronco shop and it worked out pretty good. He didn't quite get the twist out of it but I added some more shims, got the twist out and was able to correct the doors. I have a full sized...

    New Purchase 1969 Bronco

Duff is pretty helpful if you call them and talk through your set up with them. I have found most of the vendors, wild horses, Toms, Duff etc all are very knowledgeable and will talk stuff out with you. I know Duff came out with caster adjustable radius arms which seem cool, mine are fixed. The...

    New Purchase 1969 Bronco

The duff adjustable track bar and steering linkage is the way to go as I understand it. I have that on the one I am building but haven't gotten to test it, however it appears to be solid. I have asked a few very reputable builders who actually build their own chassis and when they build a bronco...

@trailerjack you're up in the Waco area right? I think you told me that once one here. I saw your light jade one at a car show in new braunfels once.

    New Purchase 1969 Bronco

@DirtDonk Good point on the parallel comment. I guess it makes sense they stay parallel as you lift up or down, I always assumed this had to be addressed when you lift it but it sounds like steering box configuration is the driving factor. Don't listen to me, listen to the bronco guru 😅

    New Purchase 1969 Bronco

To answer your question, I am pretty sure you will not need a full 2" body lift to accommodate the 351w. I believe a 1" body lift will suffice. They do make low profile air cleaners if you need it later but I would say it is safe to say you can reduce it to a 1" body. Are you sure it has a 2"...

Little update on my project. I brought it down to Woody at Badass Broncos in New Braunfels, TX and he has to be one of the most knowledgeable shops in the country, especially with sheet metal, paint, and body. He was able to insert custom jigs he had made, straighten the body out, get all my...

Won't Idle, Carb, Possible Timing, and Definite Can of Worms Issues

My vote is to switch over to electronic ignition to eliminate the variable of points. It is too cheap and easy in my opinion. Also, it may sound silly but how old is the fuel in it? I spent quite a bit of time troubleshooting a neighborhood cruisier japanese mini truck I had before I realized it...
