Extended capacity gas tanks: Any gripes about what's currently on the market?

I’m interested in the final dimensions. Someday I’m going to do a larger tank. However my stuff isn’t normal lol. What did you do about venting? My current tank has vents on both sides tied together to a single line. It never smells or leaks.

    SAE driving lights

Thanks for the input, still looking and deciding If I had thought this project through more, I’d of been in on that group buy…. White/clear is the preferred lens. Even the fog is usually just a short distance out of our little valley and most of the use is on road at night. If it is moving off...

    SAE driving lights

Just beam pattern. We get a lot of fog and wide open darkness so looking for something that can be used all the time, regardless of traffic conditions.

    SAE driving lights

Looking for a recommendation for a pair of SAE rated driving lights. Really want a pair of 6” light bars for usable driving lights that are low profile. Of course if I don’t have to spend $300 for them is better but if that’s what it takes so be it.

    Tom's Offroad Trail Terminator linkage

Your welcome. I have a bunch of them out there that way. I’m surprised to see the lack of any kind of spacer between the knuckle and joint, doesn’t take much, but I’ve always needed something to keep it from making a bind. Doesn’t take much but I’ve always needed at least 1/16 - 3/32” for...

    D44 inner C cut & turn

Excellent description of all that! Chevy Orange is what all the cool kids run on their axles, if they are clown cars🤣 and why mine are black, I’m not near cool enough for orange🤣

    Tom's Offroad Trail Terminator linkage

Most are drilling them out and calling it good. I weld a Safety Washer to the knuckle, they are cast steel and weld fine. It resolves the potential weak spot, adds bearing surface for the bolt and tightens up the clearances nicely. Also provides for enough misalignment of the hiem joint to not...

    35 Spline ARB Reliability

A few of us here have a jaded past with 35 spline ARB’s. Me personally, I’d swap it to anything else. My experience had been very poor with ARB’s of all flavors. I know many have had flawless luck, some us not so much.

    Front 4.89 rear 4.86?

The reason for the 4.09 in the Dana 44 is it makes a skip tooth so the every tooth of the pinion makes contact with every tooth of the ring gear. Theory being the gear set runs quieter and more even and have less harmonics. The truck D60 is less concerned about harmonics and noise.

To Lock, or Not to Lock... That is the Question

I’ve used Detroit and Grizzly lockers for a few decades. I may be missing the boat having never owned a selectable other than the factory electric that was in our FJ cruiser. I’m comfortable with their on street quirks and don’t find them objectionable. With radial tires the quirks are rather...

BE Thankful for what you have....

Couldn’t have said it better Tasker! For years I’ve said all the best people and friends in the world I’ve met 4 wheeling. I can go to most any town in the USA and have dinner planes with a phone call, what a great culture and a great community. Thank each and everyone of you for what you...

To Lock, or Not to Lock... That is the Question

I find a front locker to be needed much less than a rear. I have a truck with a rear locker and open front and am so impressed with its performance that the front will remain open. It gets wheeled a lot of miles, twice no front locker has stopped me, was an easy quick pull for the 6" it was an...

    Waterpump leak..

It creates a leak when the seal fails inside the water pump alerting you of pending doom before the bearing completely fails sending the fan through the radiator:eek: Typically, the seal fails as a result of the bearing beginning to fail, alerting you of pending major issues.
