    Garage door

84 inches is pretty much standard with modern garages. I would look at newer houses!

    RIP - Parnelli Jones

Many of the greats from the time are passing on now. Recently the Italian maestro of many iconic designs from the 70s Marcello Gandini passed away as well. End of an era.

    Bronco Purchase Road Trip

Wow. Sounds like an adventure for sure. I am just three stoplights north of I-40 in Albuquerque if the timing works out (would need to be before the 17th as I am out of town at the end of that week). You could get a picture of the Chariot and Action Broncos in one pop along side your dream Bronco.

Under fender air duct and filter

I have been testing my home made version of a filter . Basically an old T-shirt stretched over a frame and laid on top of the fresh air boxes. Nothing pretty but it keeps the big chunks out of the heater box and off the driver's side foot well. It may be my imagination, but I think there has...

Thread size and bolt length for lower front coil cup.

jamesroney, awesome! I will give that a try. Thanks.

Thread size and bolt length for lower front coil cup.

Can someone remind me of the thread size and length of the bolt that secures the lower coil cup to the front axle. I am doing some front end work this weekend and would like to replace the existing bolts if possible.

    Toms Off-road Catalog

Agreed, very impressive. I told the wife that it was like the arrival of the Sears Christmas catalog as a kid back in the day when that was the most anticipated catalog of the year. She said ,"Start marking things that you want for the next December."

Pictures of broncos in national parks?

I'll throw in a few pictures of the Chariot from over the years. The first is Grand Canyon circa 1983, then White Sands 1980, and more recently Petroglyph National Monument 2018. I don't do national parks much these days because of all the pavement. More interesting adventures can be had doing...

    I have questions about...holes.

..."....then you fish the license plate wire thru the holes, and the loose grommets, then you install the grommets in the holes. Then you learn that the wiring harness on the new lamps is almost too short." So true, having done this wire twice this year. Measure three times and cut and crimp once.

    Meddle’s (interior) rebuild

I've thought about a headlight reminder, too. Also like the upgraded shift indicator illumination. None of this was really done though, you know, unless you tell us how you did it!

    Changing bumpers- opinion

I am kind of partial to the pre-runner on that style of modified Bronco. It looks almost identical to the set we have on the '76. Works well.

    Changing bumpers- opinion

Pre-runner looks better to me for that Bronco. People love that look n a modified Bronco. The pre-runner won't bend if you look at it too.

    New gear reduction starter install

First thing is to make absolutely certain that you have a good ground wire/strap/cable from the block to the negative battery post. I had a slow crank problem suddenly with my GR starter and it took me months to figure out that my ground was not as secure as I thought. MOved it to another...

Do a search on this site about "charcoal cannisters". PS: You're a lucky fellow. You still have one.

Bumper lift to eliminate body gap

I see said the blind man. Those pictures tell me all I need to know. I sense an order fast approaching.

Bumper lift to eliminate body gap

I have been eyeing these for a while. But one thing I don't understand, and maybe I just missed the critical thread here, but doesn't this move the bumper out 1 inch? Is out an inch better than too low by an inch? I would like to see a picture from the side. I'm confused maybe.

Headrest install on OEM seats with Jade interior

    So... 1970s! Awesome final outcome.

Dumb question, but I want to know.

The fact that Vintage Air refuses to incorporate the air vents is why I haven't yet committed to a Vintage Air unit! I love those vents myself.

Guess It Is Time for New Tires!

Well, I went down to Discount tires and dropped 1400 bucks on a new set of 12.50x33 BFGs All Terrains. Like Shimmy says, new rubber is so satisfying. Yes, these were old tires. And yes I checked and they were bought in 2013, so a good ten years. Which is why they were in my sights for the next...

Guess It Is Time for New Tires!

BRGs are tough but I guess a 1/2 inch bolt is too much. The wife did an errand. Came back and when we tried to leave again an hour later, the passenger rear was totally flat. Jacked it up and looked for the problem and saw this! She said she felt a thump, but that was several miles away. So the...
