    BAT Craziness

I couldn't understand what you guys were saying about the paint until I looked at the up-close image of the left tail light. Whoa! On the other hand you could drive the thing and not worry about the paint!

Sitting at the computer all day making parts lists.

Hence, what we call "BAT Craziness" and other examples of perceived extreme costs of a built Bronco. They are costly to do nowadays.

New Blue color added for Bronco

That's great news. The old Wind Blue was a real work horse. Properly maintained, even when old it always looks clean no matter what dust or mud gets caked on. A great idea. Now for some other non-gray colors!

    GT40 upper intake bolt set

I am using a half-inch upper-lower insulator and none of the stock lengths quite work. Torquing to spec can easily strip threads in the aluminum casting. Better check for the spacer/insulator thickness before you pick up a set of bolts.

Im not waving at new Broncos, anymore.

It's the way of a the world with new vehicles in a marque. It has happened over an over. Over in the Fiat world, many of us were "orphaned" since 1982 when Fiat left North America. When they returned a couple of years ago, we were all excited and many of us gleefully waved at every new Fiat...

    Transmission mounting bracket...

Yes, post in the wanted section as many people have removed the original for conversions. I for example have all three pieces sitting in my parts pile from when I did the NV3550 conversion two decades ago.

    Battery Tray Color

Now that is a nice blue. I would go with black just to show off the fact that it was sprayed separately from the body and them assembled. When everything strars getting the same color it sometimes looks like things were painted in situ. But blue would work since it is not really that visible anyway.

    2022 NORRA article

"Happiest race on Earth!" Now that is an opening and a true description. Great read. More.

    What the.....?

I rode in one once and found that it was a passable off road utility vehicle with what was then modern creature comforts. It's main problem was that it could not live up to it overachiever grandfather, a common problem even among humans.

    recalls

I love the ones about potential water leaks., including "water entrapment in floor pan (Bronco)"!

    recalls

Well, it appears that I mis-spoke. This got me to thinking, and I checked all my files on that '73 and sure enough I did save that. It was in 1981. Here are the documents including the sticker along with information on where to stick it. All thanks to an early compulsive receipt/document saver...

    recalls

I "recall" this one. Somewhere way back, in the early 80s maybe?, we got a lettter from Ford about the C4 problem. And yes the "fix" was decal to afix to the instrument panel warning about it. The thing is, we were not the original owners (it was a '73 model), so how they tracked this down I...

    Center Console Question

I did the same with my Tuffy console in the 76. Easy to put a little extension on the handle with some scrap aluminum. Works great.

    New Bronco with Old Panels???

The Griot's Garage catalog recently had a 2020/21 Bronco trail build on the cover with a seriously early Bronco-like front grill arrangement. The rest was stock. But the grill really made it look retro. I had to look twice to make sure I was seeing a late model.

    A little Bronco history

Pretty awesome. That is a story that I wish were more widely known.

New / used Protofab rear bumper mounting issue

On mine they go inside the frame horns. Looks like you drill the holes after test mounting to find the proper hole locations.

    Height Calculation Question?

Even with 35s you would only be 2.5 - 3 inches higher than I am. So you would be 7ft 3" giving you another 9 inches to work with. If the steep drive is so steep that even that would be a problem, you should re-think building the garage at the end of anything that steep! It would likely flood...

    Height Calculation Question?

I have a 2.5 inch suspension, a 1" body lift, on my uncut. Even with 30" tires, my roof rack, maybe 6 to 7 inches high, just scraps the bottom of the 7 foot garage door. Given that garage doors come in standard sizez, I would go with the next size taller door at least, or at least 8 feet if...

Big Oly rides again - the ride of my life

Awesome!. And that is what I like about Broncos. Vintage, million dollar, whatever. It doesn't matter in the end. They just get used for their intended purpose. A rarity in the automotive world.

Ford dealer put up a Bronco sign

Great. So the new Bronco will have the Bronco lean too?
