**Fixed** ZF clutch issue - ZF driver feedback needed.

Sorry, I seem to be having problems with the hyperlink function here. I think I have fixed the link but it won't be helpful if you want to stay out of the bell housing. T5 Clutch Fitting Is the BC hose made of standard teflon lined AN hose or is it something else? If it is AN line you...

**Fixed** ZF clutch issue - ZF driver feedback needed.

I am assuming the BC kit requires you to remove the original Ford snap connector at the slave cylinder and install their hose in the housing directly. I haven't ever actuall seen the kit but that's how I understand it works. I can't claim for sure that this adapter has the same end that the...

1970 Build - For the Next Gen

That shop is a funny thing, it seemed so big when I moved in and now.... I need more space. It sure makes it easier to work but it's dang hard to heat in the winter. We have made some progress lately though, hopefully we will get the engine back together this weeked. A little teaser for an...

    74 Bronco rear disc brakes

I have run the cadillac rear disks and the explorer and I would never go back to the cadillac style. The caddy set can be easier to install but that is debatable and the parking brake is usually useless in an EB with deep gears and big tires. These are mostly complete sets: Currie Enterprises...

    Broncos are not rare !

I've lived in the Mountain West most of my life, mostly in Wyoming and Nevada. They are still everywhere as far as I'm concerned. This is especially true in places that aren't in love with salt in the winter, like Nevada and Wyoming. I live in a comparatively small town and I know for a fact...

1970 Build - For the Next Gen

I loomed and wrapped the wiring harnesses until I ran out of harness wrap tape. These were all tested during the pre-paint assembly so I just wanted to clean them up. There's more tape on order so I can get the transmission harness finished and put this behind me.

1970 Build - For the Next Gen

The engine had a lifter tick when I assembled the truck before paint. This engine had a lot of miles, somewhere just under 180K if I remember right, but it never used any oil and it was always a strong runner. We pulled it apart to find the problem. The cam has clearly seen better days...

1970 Build - For the Next Gen

I primed and blocked the hood twice and it came out pretty good. I just smoothed the double angle at the front the best I could. I only found a few pinholes around the edges where I sanded through the gel coat. This should look good after a color sand and buff.

    Top Glass Install

It's been a really long time since I installed glass in a top but I always used a fairly thick rope. Something like 5/16" or 3/8" rope stuffed into the gasket after it is on the glass. From what I remember you could get basically stuff the rope in the gasket enough to push the inside flange of...

Which would you use (EFI parts)???

I guess I just dreamed that you said you had the A9L but I see that was in one of the other replies. As long as you aren't using a computer that was desiged for 24lb injectors you should be able to use any combination of the pieces you have available.

Which would you use (EFI parts)???

The MAF is really just an air measuring device. I know the common explaination is that the MAF must be calibrated to the injector but that is only partially true. The MAF really must be calibrated to the air flow volumetric range (and thus, the air mass) that the engine will see. It is really...

    8.8 in a Bronco/

The only real advantage I can see is that you could put an Elocker in the 8.8. Dutchman can make axles with the 5x5.5 lug pattern to match the front for a few hundred bucks. If you were doing an explorer 5.0 conversion and wanted to retain the stock VSS it might also make sense. I suppose you...

1970 Build - For the Next Gen

Top of the Hood I blocked the gel coat on the top side of the hood to try to see what I'm in for. For the most part it's pretty smooth and shouldn't take more than a couple of coats of sanding primer to look nice. The exception is the front of the scoop. It looks like it has a double angle...

1970 Build - For the Next Gen

Hood Vents I needed to cut the vent holes in our fiberglass hood on the passenger side for the heater intake. I searched a few times on the site and couldn't find any threads so I came up with a router template to keep the cuts straight. I used a 1/2" forsner bit to cut the end holes and used...

Explorer vs. New V8 Conversion Radiator

We used this radiator and welded the lower mounts to the frame. The radistor is pretty free to move until you bolt the top mounts to the core support. Under really hard wheeling you might be able to crack the radiator from body twist, but I think you would have to break a body mount first.

1970 Build - For the Next Gen

I needed to modify the glove box door to work with the roll cage. I made a slight modification to the swinging door hinge article in the tech section. I hope the hole I used isn't too important for mounting the glove box itself :)

1970 Build - For the Next Gen

Wow, more than a year since the last post... and since much progress has been made. I finally got a chance to get started back up last weekend and at least things are coming together some more. The left fender is really beating me, yesterday marked the fourth time I have shot color on it and...

    DuraSpark Module is melting?

I ran a Duraspark for may years before converting to EFI. I can't count the number of modules that failed on me and the epoxy on every one of them had gotten nice and toasty like yours. I use to run with two of them physically installed under the hood so I could just plug the spare in on the...

ZF Clutch Fluid Leaking From Slave

The connector on both ends of the BC hose look identical. If so, both ends will need the o-ring to make a full seal. I use the old Ford connector that is about 5/8" diameter at my current slave so I don't have any direct knowledge about how the BC hose works. I do know that I have had the...
