Sterling 10.5 vs 9" hybred axle

So I'll be fine with my well-worn 5.0 and old farmer-like driving habits. Thanks. Todd Z.

Sterling 10.5 vs 9" hybred axle

Why would a 9", for example, with a TrueTrac in it, be a giant door stop, as opposed to a 9" with a Detroit in it? Todd Z.

Just a head's up, shirt hat related Baja/Stroppe

I have one of each :). Also one of the trucker hats! The t-shirt isn't too flattering on me but I've worn it nonetheless. Todd Z.

My stock height suspension steering geometry picture

I was scratching my head on that one too and then realized I think there's a WCB plate on there for the bolts on both sides to thread into? Todd Z.

It was good to see Autometer back at the show this year. They haven't attended for quite awhile. Todd Z.

Drop in assembled 3rd member for 9" - Quick Performance, Speedway, or ?

I bought a Quick Performance unit (nodular housing, TrueTrac, 4.56) about a year ago and it's still sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. Yeller's recommendation and I'm impressed with what I see. I also learned that shoving the 3rd member in a 5 gallon bucket is a pretty good way to...

    Additional SEMA 2024 reporting

A pic of the new Optima Lithium battery. They now say "Optima by Clarios" on them - haven't researched if Optima is now owned by another company (other than Johnson Controls) or not. And finally, you always see a few celebrities at SEMA and so I present a few that I saw this year: Jay Leno...

Nice looking trail truck in the US Shift booth built by CBM Designs. I had a nice long chat with Josh from Performance Adapters who explained his 6R80 adapter. He knows the shortcomings of the other ones on the market and has addressed them with his design(uses a Chevy starter). I believe the...

This was a Bronco built by Vini's Hot Rods in Birmingham, AL. The metalwork and quality of the build was fantastic. @nvrstuk has volunteered to move the rear axle back an inch for them :). Todd Z.

Here's the stained glass marker lights that @Broncobowsher was mentioning. A friend saw them and sent me back to take closeup photos of them :). And there was also a surprise under the hood. Todd Z.

I have a 1974 Bronco. The rear upper shock mounts have a curve to them. Is that normal, or should they point straight out from the frame?

They should have a upward bend to them as they come out from the frame. The shocks don't sit at a 90 deg. angle to the ground. Todd Z.

Here are two more photos I took of it. And I found this document online which explains it well. https://documents.holley.com/d1311fa35632f986d7171dc58b11825401cf9e27.pdf Todd Z.

A new Bronco builder showed up at SEMA this year - Alchemy. They're located outside of St. Louis, MO, and their co-CEO, Tyler Clark, told me he's been an EB enthusiast for 25 years and worked for Bronco Hut in CO for many years. Their rigs feature all-steel bodies (Carpenter with metal flares...

    Additional SEMA 2024 reporting

So as to not pollute @904Bronco's thread, I figured I'd create my own here with some photos and thoughts from the show this year. I'm sure @Broncobowsher will have some thoughts to share as well when he has a moment to post. I did a quick count this week and I think this is my 26th SEMA show...

    Hydroboost/pump question(s)...

The '96 pump (assuming it came on a V8 car) should be up to the task of handling the hydroboost since those cars came stock with it. However the '96 Mustangs were also rack and pinion and rack and pinion systems run at a lower pressure than recirculating ball systems. That might be part of...
