    Factory power steering box leak

Definitely be interested in your experience with the Blue Top. I'm going to do the lower seal hopefully this weekend but I think ultimately I'd like to get their 3.5 turn box.

    Factory power steering box leak

Never adjusted anything on the knuckles. Adjusting the stops will merely stop my tires from hitting the radius arms. It will not give me back my turn radius right? (I presume aftermarket arms will be needed to clear) Perfect, thanks. I did find a video of a guy doing this on his 69'. Jeff's...

    Factory power steering box leak

Thanks, Randy and Justino.... FWIW, I did go out there and though I feel my turning radius had suffered after going to 35s (they rub the stock radius arms) but From lock to lock it was right at about 4 turns. So that's good to know. I still like the idea of an upgrade especially if I can get...

    Factory power steering box leak

Hmm. I thought they were 6 turns but to be honest I've never really paid attention. Now I'm curious. I'm going to test it later today. And I think I tend to agree with you. Probably just have it rebuilt. Blue Top actually offers a 3.5 turn option and a 4.25 turn option in their rebuilds.

    Factory power steering box leak

Fixed one thing and started to move on to a want to have vs a need to have and the next "need" pops up. Didn't see much on this in the archives....so Here it goes. Have a factory 76' Power steering box (6 turn) on my 73'. I'm running and have been running this setup for probably 10 years or...

    Project Huck - Build Thread

Not very safe? Lol. That thing is in crazy shape compared to many. You want nuts, I'll drive the mile and half down to the shop and you can drive mine haha. Definitely loving the video series!

    Yet another fuel gauge issue

Update. Yellow top optima in with new cables and Recoil terminals. Fired right up. Fuel gauge works. Got my slow leaking tire plugged. We'll see if anything drains the new battery. Now my power steering box is leaking by the pitman arm. FML. As my dad used to say, it's like wiping your...

    Yet another fuel gauge issue

Yeah something is still awry. I bought a digital voltmeter (my current one is analog) so I can try and tell if something's discharging when everything is "off." Rural King was actually out of the group 65 batts and I've started to rethink my route there and I may just bite the bullet and get a...

    Yet another fuel gauge issue

So apparently, my electrical woes may stem from my battery. It's a red top Duralast which according to the guy at autozone is at least 3 years old as they aren't that color anymore. I had gotten the bronco started and driven it down there to see if they could test it in the truck to tell if if...

    Yet another fuel gauge issue

Something definitely off. I did find a slightly loose connection in the batt side of the starter solenoid so shored that up. I did get it running finally. And Paul, thanks for the other suggestion. I bypassed the tank selector switch. (Orange wire that disappears into the big loom and plugged...

    Yet another fuel gauge issue

Well, I didn't get to the fuel gauge as I now have some sort of intermittent grounding problem with the cluster. I'll check the lights, they'll come on. I try to turn the key to start, nothing. Maybe one click. Then the lights don't come on or they're really really dim. Put a battery charger...

    Yet another fuel gauge issue

Great, thanks. Hopefully I'll get to check it tomorrow.

    Yet another fuel gauge issue

Thanks, Paul. To clarify some things, I've only ever had one turn signal light working ever. Now both work. Very happy about that. The aux tank was removed by the PO. All of the harness, straps, filler neck (Everything) is still in place. The sockets allow the bulbs to go either way and I've...

    Yet another fuel gauge issue

Back to this. Went a few weeks where there wasn't much time or motivation on my end to work on this. I ended up buying a new IVR from Tom's as well as LED replacement bulbs for the lights in the gauge cluster. BTW, the IVR didn't fix it. Best I can tell it's the wire somewhere between the gauge...

    Yet another fuel gauge issue

What a cluster....lol. Had a light and a mirror and absolutely could not see the IVR on the back of the gauge cluster. Turns out there was a thick taped loom of wire right over it that didn't want to move. Ended up unscrewing the cluster from the dash in an effort to push it down so I could...

    NC Various parts for sale.

Where in NC? Any of this stuff still available?

    Yet another fuel gauge issue

Yes the key was on during testing. Stock oil pressure and temp gauges are unhooked as I'm using aftermarket mechanical gauges for those two.

    Yet another fuel gauge issue

Is that something you'd find at a local parts store? Also, I did the volt meter test at the wires at the sending unit and nada. Still could be the wire or could be the IVR. Sigh...

    Yet another fuel gauge issue

Bringing this one back to the top. Sorry I didn't update everyone after I got the leak taken care of. Fast forward to lately, where the gauge stopped reading altogether. Worked fine for a couple of months and then seemed to not work suddenly. Troubleshooting steps taken so far: Tried to...

    1 inch body lift complications

And I'm not sure how to adjust for that. Not sure if I should now adjust the fork length or not. Edit: I backed off the pushrod until there was play in the fork. Then checked it. Was engage literally off the floor. I measured overall pedal travel and pre-travel and both seem to be in spec. I...
