Brake pedal bottoming out after Hydroboost install

No problem. We are In similar situations. I also made sure I attached the pedal last. I’ve put a pic up in case it helps you get the pedal hooked up. As of now, I hooked up the rest of the system, bled all the brakes, and it feels as I would expect for a correct install. But again, engine...

Brake pedal bottoming out after Hydroboost install

Bump. Pedal still hits the floor, pill is in, Hydroboost is bolted up to firewall correctly, rod is fully extended, pedal travels 5.5” before hitting floor. Does anyone know if there is still the ability for the pedal to move AFTER the MC cylinder bottoms out??

Which micron fuel filter after carter electric fuel pump?

Most of the threads I’m seeing are EFI fuel filter related, suggesting 10 micron or less after the fuel pump. Any thoughts on a decent fuel filter after the carter electric pump for carb application? Currently running a 100 micron wix before the pump and one of those glass types in the engine...

Brake pedal bottoming out after Hydroboost install

And as I read that… it mechanically doesn’t seem plausible.. so something is missing.

Brake pedal bottoming out after Hydroboost install

That all makes sense to me. Here’s a question… does/can the pedal still travel if the MC bottoms out first? Maybe I’m reaching the bottom of travel in the MC and not realizing it??

Starter solenoid wiring with no Coil… stray wire from “I” terminal…

Ok, not used seems most likely. I’ll just remove that wire. Not sure why the PO had it there. Thanks!!

Starter solenoid wiring with no Coil… stray wire from “I” terminal…

I won’t ground it.. but it’s bizarre, all signs are pointing that it was. I’ve got 2 wires going into my distributor, a green and a red. It’s a painless harness.

Starter solenoid wiring with no Coil… stray wire from “I” terminal…

Thanks for the explanation! I do have a GM style distributor, but there aren’t any wires where that would be tied into. I never removed the end off the “I” post, and the other and just wrapped under the larger post on the right of the solenoid. So either this was just hanging (close to metal)...

Yep. Kit came with it installed and I just bolted it all up.

Starter solenoid wiring with no Coil… stray wire from “I” terminal…

Running a carb with HEI. It’s crazy…. I’ve been looking at older photos with it hooked up and while I don’t have a great angle, it looks like it just bends around and grounds. There’s even a hole there! It’s strange.

Starter solenoid wiring with no Coil… stray wire from “I” terminal…

Hooking up all the wiring that I tore apart…. I’ve got a stray wire off the “I” terminal on my starter solenoid. I can’t remember where it went. It’s short, almost like a jumper or ground. I don’t have a coil. Any ideas?

Brake pedal bottoming out after Hydroboost install

I’m referring to the warning that says the MC push rod must bottom out in the bore before pedal hits floor board. It’s on my wildwood MC instructions. I just assumed that while bleeding the installed MC via brake pedal, I’d hit a force before the floor. But I don’t have the rest of the system...

Brake pedal bottoming out after Hydroboost install

The bronco is all torn apart at the moment, won’t be driving it for awhile. I think I just got caught up in the instructions mentioning that in order to properly operate (and bleed correctly) the pedal shouldn’t hit the floor. As far as bleeding, I installed the Hydroboost, MC, and prop valve...

Brake pedal bottoming out after Hydroboost install

Ok, up next… just installed Hydroboost kit with wildwood MC. I have the rod that connects the Hydroboost to the brake pedal extended all the way, It’s barely threaded on. Problem is the brake pedal still hits the floor. I’d say it’s about 5 1/2” from the floor and that’s as far as I can get...

Stuck on Dana 20 rebuild…. help

I’m gonna run down and grab a dial indicator, but the one thing I’m confused on is preload vs endplay and which needs to be checked. I’ve read on some other threads, I just need to grab a torque wrench and look for 5-7 inch lbs on the yoke nut before rotation. Yet I also read I need a dial...

Thanks James! I’ll keep that in mind if I run into problems.

Stuck on Dana 20 rebuild…. help

Seems to have done the trick, although my confidence is low that I didn’t screw something else up in this one. Anything else I should be looking for? It rotates, not sure if it’s as loose as it should be. After install, what would you say are symptoms that it need to be looser (or tighter)...

Stuck on Dana 20 rebuild…. help

Help again! Need to revisit this one… I used some setting compound and started putting it back together. I torqued down the nut on the out put shaft (125 ft lbs) and it doesn’t even rotate! I know it’s nothing to do with the compound, because I did a dry run and same thing happened. What am I...

    Fuel venting option

Issue up next…fuel venting! Current setup… 23 gal tank has 2 vent lines. One goes towards the aux tank area (the tank was removed), and is just hanging there as an open line. The other goes all the way into the back of the engine air cleaner. I don’t believe I have issues with fuel fumes in my...
