When I swapped the 6cyl for a 351w on the 66 I barely hit the fireworks driver side. Sliding the body back like Paul said probably would've worked but I went for the instant gratification of the little sledgehammer. A couple taps and it fits fine

With the 4g alternator is it just an aftermarket harness to the solenoid /battery area? Currently I have a centech harness with a stock alternator. Already figured I need a different bracket on the driver side for the dual return Saginaw ps pump.

If you're going to slowly put an axle together all the more reason to go 44. I think there are currently a couple in the classifieds.

351 with a jet performance q-jet. Depending what the short block was built for you may want to change the cam.

What size tires and what are you doing in the Bronco? If you have bigger tires and or go off road frequently no sense polishing a turd. Get yourself a 44 or a 60 if you're an animal.

It's been forever but from what I remember it slipped in the intermediate housing from the rear. The stock seal was a single lip but someone found a double lip that outlasts the original seal.

Switching shorties you'll lose. Most the benefits of having headers. I would look in to header wraps or heat insulation.

What about the bc headers? Like skrit said no real gain between shorties and stock manifolds. Don't the p headers allow for long tube headers to fit.
