Yes the ebs are a somewhat capable vehicle in stock form. As you wish to conquer bigger and more challenging endeavors it begins the need for more clearance, more travel and it just grows from there. Yes the broncos are like women but you aint lived til you get one a little twisted
Probably the 35s and spool. I had a stock axle take a dump on the 66 pulling out of the liquor store. 351w, 35s with open diff. I just ordered a replacement from wh.. I have a 77 housing with 31spline moly axles on the bench to eventually go in.
Location? There may be a reputable shop local to you to save on shipping. If you only want to do it once you might want To go arb and be done with it. Then you know you won't need to upgrade.
When you look for brackets make sure they put the bleeder screw in the correct spot. Otherwise bleeding is a pita. That's why I like the bc's. Also it uses of the shelf bolt on parts you can get at the local Napa. No machining the rotors
Easiest and cleanest is an hei set up. If you go that route don't do it on the cheap. Get the dui unit mentioned above. Guys have has issues with the cheaper versions. Also dui recommends an aftermarket oil pump drive like an arp .
