    SEFI Questions

Found some interesting things this evening. My code reader with the original computer would show that it was testing 6 cylinders and with the new computer it would test 8 cylinders. I also found that #3 injector was not clicking, so I'll assume that it is open all the time, giving me a rich...

    SEFI Questions

The new computer(s) both came out of T-birds (one a 93 and the other a 92) but I have seen them listed as used in Mustangs also. The harness and efi components I am using are off a 92 t-Bird which is basically the same as a 94-95 Mustang with the curved upper plenum. A complete cross reference...

    SEFI Questions

The 2 charts you show are for different size motors - one for a Lightening (351?) and a 3.8 V6. They shouldn't be the same as the flow demands for the different motors would be different and the weight of the vehicles are grossly different. I borrowed another computer from a T-bird that I am...

    SEFI Questions

My truck seems to run OK at 20-25psi on the fuel rail. If I kick the pressure up to were it should be - 37psi it will die if you pop the throttle. Also experiencing hard start condition when warm (have to keep the starter on a little after the motor starts to fire (to keep it running)) Ran...

    Motorcraft carburator help

Set your float lower than stock (about 1/8 less). Turn your main screws in all the way - go easy, you don't want to damage the seat. Then turn them out 2 full turns. Most carbs run the screw out from 2 - 2 1/2 turns. Hook up a vacumn gage and see where it reads. Adjust them out an 1/8 to 1/4...

Dana 44? (cast and steel wedges). Updated with PICS.

Early modeds have the weld on wedges, the later ones have cast. The build number on the axle tube will tell you the year. A 73 HP that I have, has the weld on wedges. Check www.pirate4x4.com for Mr N's atricle on Dana 44 axles. Jeff

    Head Gasket and compression test

Try a block tester (make sure you get new fluid). If you have a blown head gasket the fluid will change color. If the fluid changes ever so slightly (you have old fluid) change your head gaskets and look for a hairline between the cylinder and the water ports. Jeff

    Low Freq Body Vibration...Ideas?

I had a similar vibration, it was the rear t-case output yolk nut that was loose. Rebalanced the tires, rotated,..... tightened the nut and no more vibration. Jeff

    Flopped Dana 300

Flopping a Dana 300 would put the outputs in the right place for use on a bronco. Lower gear sets are alot cheaper than those for a D-20. Anyone try this? Jeff

    Potty Mod

Might want to rethink those hooks hanging out there at Eye level. Wouldn't want to trip and hook myself to the rack ,50 miles from nowhere. Lots of places, like A-A Mfg. sell all sorts of tabs and such, inexpensive also. What's one of those 'potties' cost? Are they leak proof when sealed up? Jeff
