03 Superduty axle install advice

I've picked up a D60 and Sterling 10.5 out of an 03 super duty.
I'm going to be using bloody knuckle cage style arms for the install of the front.
I want to keep these full width and not mess around with shortening the axles.

There are a lot of threads out there with one ton installs but i'm trying to find one with the <04 one ton set as the housing and the diff casting are different than the earlier ones and the later ones.

So i'm trying to find some good pics for axles placement, arm placement, shock, coil, etc....

I won't be doing this right away. Will be at least till the end of the year that I have the rest of the parts, shocks, springs locker for the front (already have one for the rear) etc...

so looking for some advice and good research to comb through.

Artec Industries sells a low profile truss for the superduty axles that alow cutting down the diff sleeve on the drivers side to get more tube exposed to weld your link brackets on

Honestly I'd sell that 03 front end for an 05+ and start there, much better axle with a far wider range of available parts and upgrades. You can get them at any junkyard (at least in my area) for $300.

My build thread uses a kingpin axle but a lot of it will be help for you. Put the axle where you want it, mount the arms off that and hang them where they fit. I had to build my own coil bucket spacers but I believe there are offset buckets for that now. I made my own shock towers but F250 stuff would be super simple as well.

The junkyards around here still want an arm and a leg for anything that has a D and a 60 in the title. Thanks i'll take a look at your build thread.

That's too bad, good luck with your build. Don't be afraid to ask questions, it wasn't fairly difficult, my father and I built my truck in 6 weeks and have made virtually no modifications to the original build a decade later.

Thanks i'll check them out.

Getting closer on this. I have the Matching front and rear. E-locking third from a later super duty to install in my 10.5 sterling.

Just picked up some used bloody knuckle, cage style arms.

Need to get the spring perches, frame and axle brackets and figure out new spring size for front and rear and get those also. Going to move the front axle forward and the rear axle back a bit.

Thanks will do. I'm very mechanically inclined but this will be my first axle swap other than one tons on my old suburban but that was about as easy as it gets in terms of swaps.

Old thread but I am trying to do the same thing you are. Have you made any progress on your build?
