Thanks! I didn’t think it looked right, but I’m not that close to starting it obviously so I didn’t double check.

Will reroute and check length again!

Moved her out in the sun, got the front frame section painted and engine bay touched up.

Painted my radius arms, and the power steering box.

Turned it around and into the garage facing forward to hopefully make it easier to put motor in!

Also started the parking lamp conversion, ordered the clear covers. HATE the big bulbous orange later ones.

Opportunity to clean, sweep, reorganize the garage while I had the bronco out. This is pre-clean.

Should be easier to get the cherry picker in this way, will probably pull the hood off.

Trying to retain as much “charm” and original paint as possible.

Yuck.

Might be one of the easiest, most impactful mods ever!

So, I have been chipping away and buying more crap haha.

Got the Exploder brackets wire wheeled, and installed...my 1st attempt at a serp belt was a success. It is very tight but I think it is good. Need to make brackets to move that PS res down most likely. Still spit shinning the engine bay/ front section of the frame...then decided to rehab the heater box, because what is another "while I'm here". 1st stab at a "upgrade blower" was a fail. Returned it and ordered another one with the metal cage that quite a few have used successfully: 35587/ 35602.

Clutch master is mounted, but has to come off and get married with the vacuum booster. Should I reinforce the firewall? or is the brake bracket enough?

Didn't get pics but the heater box is cleaned/painted and ready for reassembly...just waiting on some foam seal material. Love seeing the Fo-Mo-Co logo, probably the original heater core....judging by the rest of this bronco. Really solid/clean for a Louisiana fishing rig.

Grabbed a used ARP 12pt header stud set off Amazon for $25, only fitted one side and 2 bolts need some massaging, or creative timing/ order of washer/nut placement. I ordered some 3/4" long arp bolts also, might mix/match. Need to decide how to wrangle the Ford Motorsport wires at some point. Soon I will know if these headers clear the frame, they may end up with v-band collector, before being re-coated.

Chipping away is better than not at all. Don't count them receipts. :)

Started working on installing my custom radius arms, deliberating the frame mounting... arms seem close to frame at ride height. May space them down 1".

Got a drivers side vent window upgraded to OEM stainless. Kind of a pain! Passenger should go easier. Looks great and has oem glass I think? maybe just later yr. Had to repair the handle and add a thin washer behind the wavy washer, now it holds closed tightly.

Tie rod over steering mocked up and finish welded, trac bar riser on, axle and frame cleaned and painted.

Next step: run brake and fuel lines, and mock up my custom radius arms with new 7’ bushings and see where my castor falls. Need to check up travel to the frame also, may space the frame mounts for the arms down an 1”.

Also installed a new ignition switch, what a bear. Debated figuring out how to delete or mod the fusible link…but kept it for now.

Well. Not a great feeling, but I admitted to myself that my radius arms do not meet my quality control…

Not exactly the same, and the frame mount location did not end up where I wanted.

Ordered the Solo Motorsport arms! Very excited about the beef and simplicity.

TBC…

Got my return and feed fuel lines ran to fuel pressure regulator on upper firewall. Brake lines ran from booster mounted prop valve to frame mounts…not crazy about the loops but not sure what other options there are for a high mounted prop valve.

Still need to decide on a pre pump filter if the stock style pickup filter isn’t adequate…

Received my new Solo Motorsport radius arms today, man are they beefy.

Looking at the angle of the arms I built, when the “face” of the arm in on the garage….my jig (lack there of) failed. Lying side by side the arms look similar… but mine are asymmetrical and land outside the frame, and the castor is bad. Oh well. Spent the $$ and happy with these. I’ll get a $250 core for the other pair of arms I have.

Beef!

My homebuilt arms don’t look bad….devil is in the details. Those heims are huge even compared to the JJ’s.

Rattlecan’d and mounted! Had to adjust the trac-bar but everything measures out square and clears well.

Just need to burn the mounts in and paint them.

Front brake lines are finally ran, had to massage the ends on the caliper hoses to fit the axle mounts and track down the correct E-clips. I hope all my double flares are leak free on the new hard lines…

Welded the “D” side of the steering joint. I figure the steering shaft can drop out from the bottom if ever needed, but my column is in great shape, smooth and tight.

Would you quit screwing around and hurry up already?
Been waiting for a driving report on the Lunati cam.

Oh yeah, nice build.

Also, my caster looks like it will be 5.5-6 degrees with 4' bushings at ride height.
