Axle moved back 1” and pinion angle set 2ish degrees less than my new driveshaft.
Rear drum brakes and E-brake all rehabbed.

Bummed about this leak/drip. Hoping its valve covers/ or rear pan bolts. We’ll see I guess.

What is likely to drip while the engine sits not running? It has only ran for maybe 10min or so last week. This drip reforms if I wipe it off.

Rear shocks mounted on rear, leaf pads welded on and buttoned up.

Now back to the front to finalize and weld on shock mounts.

Need to get a high pressure PS hose made, then drive it to the exhaust shop! Hopefully

“...What is likely to drip..."
everything.
What is the pic of? rear main?

Best to locate 1) B4 running (disguises origin/reveals some),
2) even worse After drivin (wind blows it all over everything
further disguising origin).

Yeah, that is the rear pan. Hard to tell if it is only on trans side of inspection cover or engine side also…

Don’t see any oil at back of intake, I did see slight dampness at back of valve cover so I snugged those bolts up. We’ll see

I welded on and painted the front "f250" shock mounts yesterday, checked and tightened all the steering. Also made the 6AN high pressure line for the powersteering, except I am still waiting on the adapter for the nissan box, Amazon didn't deliver...might check locally today. It is a 3/8" inverted flare.

Front output on the np205 is leaking like someone shot it with a 22.... Seal came in, just need to change it. Hopefully the output isn't super gouged on the seal surface.

Almost time to put the seats in and take it to the exhaust shop!

NP205 leak free, added a 100 micron pre pump filter....and drove around the block!!

Rear suspension- stiff
Front susp- super soft

Trans shifts good, clutch feels good/heavyish

engine runs smooth, 1st gear is so low.

Vid to follow

I'm not doing very good with pictures...

But the Bronco is at the exhaust shop, drove it there! Went with a 2 into Y, into a magnaflow, 2.5" out the pass corner. We'll see.

Issues:
Experienced some "death wobble" a couple of times...may try stiffer shocks, the front end is really soft/bouncy. Have new trac bar bushings to put in, may look at making the drag link and trac bar more horizontal....currently over the knuckle, riser on the axle but stock frame mount and pitman arm.

Engine does sound just right? May have improved with timing check, adjusted with timing light. May need to get more experienced hands on it...maybe recheck my rocker arms? Makes good vacuum, has 30-40 oil pressure, sounds better at higher revs. Getting the exhaust done to make it more pleasant to tune and have the O2 sensor working correctly. Currently its just tacked in a makeshift down pipe on the headed....with no other exhaust.

Need to make a trans tunnel cover.

Need to decide if the transfer case needs another support.

If you haven't figured it out yet, 1st gear in the ZF is like the 1st gear in a NP435. Low and slow.
I had a ZF in 460F250. I enjoyed that transmission and still looking for one (SBF) to put in mine.

4 new 33x10.50 General Grabber X3’s, man it’s smooth as glass!

Today I fixed my brake lights that were sticking “ON”, fixed grounds for the radio and blinker/hazard flashers (for LEDs).

Now all my lights work correctly, even the dash brake light cycles on/off with the key! Love it.

Need to make a cover for the trans tunnel….

Also, I think my leak that I thought might be the back of the pan or RMS is actually the front input of the transmission. Bummer, I think I have to separate the ZF5 case and replace from the inside. It not a terrible leak, but still a bummer.

Getting it road worthy is sooo rewarding, congrats!

How loud is the hum from the X3’s? Looking at options for my next set of DD tires, not many options in 33x10.50/15 and those are high on the list.

I’ll let you know after this weekend, haven’t gotten it up to speed for extended time yet. So far I don’t hear them over the Explorer clutch fan/engine/exhaust.

Is your power steering reservoir as close to the brake combination valve as it looks? Or is there a reasonable gap?
Since it looks like one is mounted to the engine (of course) and the other is mounted to the body (most likely), it would be good to have a decent gap between them.

DirtDonk its not bolted on in that pic, it sits where most people mount them. 1” or so down and back.
