Saw you joined Ford Six, hopefully someone on there has one for you if that one from Normans doesn’t work out.
I saw one in a Granada in the junkyard a few months ago. Hadn't seen one in years!I got my 250 out of a 76 Maverick.
Your Bronco is well equipped! I have the power brake parts for mine just have to get it installed. It's been a fun setup. I have a 6 cylinder Bronco with power brakes, power steering, and electronic ignition - all sourced from the Maverick.
My last major change was going to a 5 speed because I could with the 250 bolting up to v8 transmissions![]()
I started with a pan I modified but I think I had a slight warp so went back to stock. I have a 2.5" suspension lift and 1" body lift so I'm not concerned about the pan contacting the front diff.Your Bronco is well equipped! I have the power brake parts for mine just have to get it installed.
I would like to hear if your 250 oil pan is modified and how did you accomplish that?
I need a good used 250 inline six. (The difference is where the starter mounts.)
The engine in my Bronco that grenaded is engine code
D5DE
6015-AA
I need one with the same code.![]()

What's wrong with this engine?
Just in case you forget. It won't be cheap to do this, but it is worth it. I had a 170 Slant 6 which needed a valve adjust about every 2000 miles or less if I was driving it very spiritedly. The valves would get tight and start hanging open if I didn't adjust them. By the time that engine came apart for a rebuild those valves were way up into the head casting.Definitely needs to get hard exhaust valve seats if it's going to go that far apart.
Do you have a lift on your Bronco? Probably the front diff damaged if not lifted.![]()
Here’s the condition of my oil pan. Could someone have beat it like this on purpose? I saw someone above mention the front differential?

what lift are you running? The 250 in one of my EBs was out of a late 70s Granada; never had oil pan interference but it was lifted 5" or so on rock-hard old school K-Bar-S coils.![]()

Ford did not provide a rear sump pan for the 250 unfortunately. I need a solution for mine as going back to stock springs.Wouldn’t the correct six-cylinder pan also have been a rear sump?
Would such a pan exist for the 250? Were all the pan mounting flanges the same, except for perhaps the 300? Or did they vary by engine size?
Unfortunately no rear sump 250 was offered. 240/300 is the “big block” 6 while the 144/170/200/250 are “small block”. But what makes it even more fun is the 250 oil pan is different so you can’t bolt on a rear sump 200 pan. People have talked about cutting the two apart and welding them together.Wouldn’t the correct six-cylinder pan also have been a rear sump?
