Yep, you need one of these and make sure that old O ring comes off with the other one, and for goodness sakes use a genuine Motorcraft ;)

not to hijack, but since the OP has the info he's looking for....
why motorcraft? for the originality of it, or is it actually better than the others? just curious.

The Motocraft stuff is made for your engine, not 200 diff aplications.I worked for Ford for 9 years and have seen after market crap cause major issues,Ie loss of oil pressure=no moto filter.Have seen after market air cleaners cause major air flow issues.

I use the K&N HP3001; works well and made well. Similar to the Mobil filter (rated very high) but it has a nut on top which makes it easier to install and replace.

If you find something lemme know. I've been using these for about 6years now.

It's the air filters, just looked around and came up with this, and it's debatable too. Some of the guys having their oil tested were finding high rates of silicon in the oil, this was attributed to K&N air filters by some, including Blackstone Laboratories.

There are bunches of threads out there concerning this and here is one:

http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1096766

They were saying the K&N's were letting dirt into the system which shows up as silicon in the oil.

I can vouch for the oil pressure difference between Fram & Motorcraft.
