I installed 351W into my 71 bronco from a 90's bronco. I used diaphragm clutch assembly that came with motor! Big mistake!!! I can't adjust clutch enough to disengage clutch.

Install went smooth but geometry of my 71 doesn't disengage clutch. any easy solutions? HAHA

or do I need to pull and replace clutch assembly?????

I believe pressure plate requires a longer clutch fork.

Any recommends ?

Cheers

I installed a Luk diaphragm kit from rockauto in my 74 and didn't have to change anything. Worked like a charm with my stock 3 speed. Used stock linkage and fork. It also worked with my M5ODR2 upgrade using a hydraulic throw out bearing.

Wrong clutch maybe? You mentioned it came with the motor.

We’ve talked before about the diaphragm clutches needing a little more travel, but I don’t think anybody’s had trouble enough to need to redesign the linkage.
Maybe the truck your clutch came out of had a hydraulic throwout bearing? Might have more travel built-in.
Maybe your clutch needs an adjustment to get it further from the floor? Or is it already as far as it’s comfortable?

Didn’t someone recently have this issue because they had a lot of floor covering? Thick carpet and insulation?

I had issue with diaphragm on an nv4500, but it just took more adjustment of the adjustable rod than I had seen before.

You say you are using 90's fullsize bronco, is it a v8 or straight six clutch arm? look like this? I used rock auto, always do, to verify what a part should look like.

Spring holds pedal up, the first inch or so of pedal travel is taking up slack and just starting to touch throw-out bearing and clutch pack. Usually by time pedal is half way down it should be fully engaged and no drag on clutch to tranny noticed. Not sure a different clutch arm would make a difference, as long as it is out of a 351/302 style bellhousing, it should work.
