Looking to find some headers to fit my 1970 with 351w manual trans
bought a set (scott drake) from a vendor advertised as fitting the 351w, while they do bolt on I have a clearance issue withe the clutch bell crank, contacted scott drake and they said that the header is only advertised to fit the 289-302
engines, so do I just bend the clutch bell crank arm to get the clearance I need or are there other headers out there that fit without having to modify stuff to make them work. seen a set of hooker headers #6825 that are advertised as for a 351 conversion in a early bronco but looking thru hooker headers tech section cannot find that part number, did try and use the search function on here but couldn't find a definitive answer to my question
thanks in advance

Duff headers cleared my 351 and manual transmission just fine. No bending stuff.

Don't bend clutch linkage. Screw up the alignment and it will fall apart as you drive.

I ended up with a set of long tube 302 headers and had the same problem as well as an issue of them aimed right at a major bracket on the frame - the body mount I believe.

I carefully and thoughtfully bent part of the clutch linkage to clear and had to cut and train the collectors but they all worked fine. Only a few tanks of gas later my wife decides she wants an auto so I won’t be enjoying the linkage anymore.

I also have duff long tube headers on a 351w. Pretty sure I had to bend the clutch linkage a little to fit. Other than that they worked good for me.

Mid 90's Duff longtubes and I had to tweak the bellcrank arm a bit to get the clutch adjustment rod to align with the clutch fork.

Make sure you have a spring pulling the fork forward to help ensure that assembly stays together.

Done with some thought it won't affect the function.

I used mac mustang unequal length shorties. Given the extra height of the 351 it brought the flanges above the frame and made running the exhaust somewhAt more simple

BC Bronco's JBA 1 5/8" primary shorty's fit a 351W with manual clutch linkage, hydraulic ZF, 4r70W, AOD, and I'm sure a host of other tranny's...

On a Bronco, long tubes just get smashed as they hang down too low...

I had some Duff long tubes from the early 90's that fit but they've probably changed the design since because of extended radius arms...

351w headers

well after looking at all the suggestion's and calling duffs about their long tubes was informed that they aren't taking any new orders and do not have a time frame when they will be able to fill any orders I bought the hooker headers and will see how they work out. thanks for all the responses will let you all no how they work out

PO bent clutch linkage for fitment, the poor geometry eventually led to it's failure, I would attempt to avoid that.
