I am building a mild 351W based 408 stroker and going to mate it to my ZF 5 speed trans. Can someone tell me what starter, flywheel and clutch I should run?

I have the stock 28oz external imbalance.

Also pulling the 351C out, guessing I can't reuse any of those parts.

Thank you in advance :)

What balance is the 408 being built to? Need to match that. Probably 28, but they also make the stroker kits in 50 and zero.
After that it is your choice of clutch for a 1993 F350 351 5-speed application.
My guess is once the 351C comes out and you look at the clutch, you probably won't want those parts. Starter should carry over.

28 imbalance

starter may work?

wondering if same flywheel and clutch would work, they are fairly new. 351C is also 28oz

Flywheel, clutch and starter off the 351C will work. It's the same parts as a Windsor.

The 351M/400 is where things get different. Small block crank bolt pattern, with big block diameter/tooth count.

Except (apparently) for the 400 coupled to an FMX transmission. Those had the small bell housing pattern and so then theoretically at least a 164t ring gear.
Same bolt pattern, same diameter and tooth count, different offset.

As seen in another thread from today.

Wow that is great news. That will save me a few bucks.

The motor mounts are also the same for the 351C and the 351W.
