What Viperwolf said. Lines up to Explorer serp plumbing (kind of) but the tranny cooler being on the cool side (unlike Champion) is the selling feature.

The Explorer radiators are nearly always in stock in my neck of the woods, have a lifetime guarantee and are ~$100. Hard to argue with that- I put M/C plugs in the trans cooler holes for future use.

Everything fits great - even narrowed.

Pretty sure this is the right one. Can someone confirm?

If these radiators work that's awesome, I was about to spend $75 on just that stupid lower crossover tube.

Grillmaster, the pics in that link show a gen 2 radiator with mounts attached to the tanks on each side. The gen 1 radiator these guys are talking about will have pegs sticking down off the bottom for mounting. Not sure what you'd really get with this purchase.

Thanks Ransil! This is the one I am looking for however this is for the auto trans and has the angled output the manual one that has a straight tube coming out the bottom. When I search the site I don't get an option for manual vs auto?

Would rather spend 100 and get one of these that comes with a lifetime guarantee than a Champion aluminum radiator that will need to be replaced at full cost each time. These can also be found at a lot of parts stores in stock I hear.

Rangers and explorers are the same thing... https://m.pepboys.com/product/details/9813069/00894/1994/FORD/EXPLORER/0/V6-245%20%204.0L%20OHV

If you want a straight outlet, you have to get a manual radiator which is thinner and (obviously) does not have the tranny cooler. If you want the thicker auto radiator, then you'll have to deal with the angled outlet.

good to know.... must just be the wrong picture that's not the right radiator. That is a top bottom res for one. Looks much wider too.

That looks like it! Cheeper on this site but no garuntee like the parts stores give you at a higher initial cost (130ish).

Still have not ruled out the Champion radiator. Its a direct bolt in and just found out they have a lifetime guarantee. Still need to price them out w/ shipping.

Can't find a good thread with install pics on the exploder radiator.

Viper- are your using only an external trans cooler or are you going through the radiator and the external cooler?

Just the external cooler for the time being. I want to make sure the radiator can handle the heat from the engine before I add transmission heat to it.

Here's the rad I have been looking at to use when my wrecking yard explorer rad gives. It is an explorer with welded aluminum side tanks. [URL="http://www.cxracing.com
