For those using the quik 4 controller or even the quik 6 controller how often do you need to access the panel? Trying to decide to mount it where I can easily reach it from the drivers seat or hide/tuck it up under the dash?

I have the quick4 and only accessed it about 6 times while I dialed it the first month. It is currently tucked up. I don’t switch between shift strategies, I just keep it on 1.

My last side job, owner wanted to be able to take a look every once in a while and wasn't concerned about the lost space...

The older version when I installed it, watched a lot while it was new. then ignored. I installed one in a Ranger a long time ago. It was tucked up in the B-pillar and never looked at.

Mainly, I want to see the Trans temp as your putting the first few 100 plus miles on the transmission.
The older version I just plugged in the laptop and left it on the seat to watch stuff. Once happy, didn't carry the laptop anymore. I presume you can still do the same with this newer version?

I pestered Baumann/US Shift yearly for 10 yrs about a gear indicator to be able to quickly glance to see which gear I'm in. Yeah, you'd think you could keep track and it's easy with a 4 spd but when you're manually shifting, crawling over stuff or wildly hammering it thru deep snow and it would have been nice to quickly glance at the A pillar or next to the tach & see if I was in 4th or 5th as OD isn't as strong so keeping it out under full throttle is a longevitiy thing. I have worn out the lock up in the converter. Anyway, mine hung off my temporary shifter mount for 12 yrs then I gave up on them EVER making a remote indicator as each year they said they were working on it...(I called every year). Anyway, 3 months after I cut a hole in my dash they announced they had a remote. Couldn't believe it. lol I used to switch from my ice cream tune to my snow/sand bashing tune but don't anymore...

It came out right after I cut a hole in my dash for it.... :( What I undeerstand is you send your's in, they credit you a certain amount and send you out a new one that works with their new remote mounted "gauge".

So, I called them today.

I have a gen 2 control module and I would need to ship it back to them.
Then pay them $300 for the new module with attached remote.
You get a new module that needs to be hidden somewhere and then a wired remote you can place most anywhere with length of the cable.
He did say that even though the remote is smaller the actual screen size is larger with the added lock out control for the TQ.

I think it's BS but will likely send them mine back and do the swap.
