96 can be EEC-IV or EEC-V. Just depends on GVWR, CARB or FED emissions, alignment of the moon during production etc...

Just an FYI, if it is indeed OBD2 I have software to tune those in the works currently. Just in case you haven't completely ruled out Ford EFI and have a complete donor to work with.

Good to know thanks for the heads up. I was thinking of keeping the PCM as it's new (remaned) just installed along with the wiring harness just in case.

I pulled my 5.8 out of a 96 Van. It had the same E7 heads and cam in it that as far as I could tell came in every other 5.8 engine of the era, it also had 19lb injectors. Nothing seemed different to me? Mine had a wiped cam lobe and scored roller lifters but everything else seemed fine and serviceable. "IF" there's any difference between a van 5.8 and any other 5.8 I suppose the pistons could be? But frankly I seriously doubt Ford wasted the time making a separate engine just for vans.
