Add the auto adjusters to the brakes while your at it, I know the 66's did not come with them from the factory, but nobody will ever see them and it's nice to have auto adjusters on these old drum set ups!! :)
Truck is looking great!!!!!

Thanks for the tip. I did decide to do that as they came with the kit and figured it wouldn't hurt.

Just moved my East Texas rangoon red U13 to the back yard last night. Your build was the motivation to get mine running and driving for now, and restored as time and money permit while I enjoy cruising in the jalopy.

Just dropped $250 on mechanical and brake parts! No turning back now.

Tough shot to the face. After the first wheel, I broke down and bought some Brake Spring Pliers and Spring Compressor off Amazon. A very worthwhile $12.

Also, on the auto adjusters, my '66 took a Right side kit for the left side. The back plate must be the same part on both sides. The adjustment hole was to the front on the left and to the back on the right.

Mine were the same way I put them on with the lefts anyhow. I may indeed get a set of right for them as well as they don't line up with the window. It was the self adjuster spring that actually shot off and hit my face.

Got a few things checked off the list this week.
When I got this bronco it had one warn, and one original 66 ford hub. Neither one operated as it should. So with some help of a few bronco friends, I sourced some missing parts.
I was able to buy new spring and spring for the original hubs. They were pricey at a little over a 100 shipped. But at least they were available. You can see the place I got them from on the packaging.

So I went through the five original faces and knobs I had picked to have ran them through the sandblaster making sure only hit the outside surfaces.

Also got the rear spring eye bushings pushed out at a local auto pats shop. They said that will be the last ones they ever agree to do.... so those are now re-bushed and back on the truck.
So the chassis is also ready to go

Just got the wheels finished. They were pretty raunchy. I had them bead blasted and ecoated by a company that supplies to ford that My dad works with. Got a little government work done for free. Then I applied 4 coats of color and 2 coats of clear (7cans of color,2 clear). They look just like Kelsey /Hayes sent to ford back in the day. Figured it was easier to hose them down in my garage then pay the body shop big bucks to paint something that is hardly looked at . It will almost be a shame to put those hubcaps on there and scratched the shit out of them . When I get back from spring break I will be getting the tires mounted.
Note: 7aerosol cans +4 miller lite= a good buzz!

Good job on the resto, as usual. Not many people know about or have the 66 only K/H steel wheels. Good stuff. I have a couple sets, but they are very hard to find. Keep the pictures coming.

Well it has been quite a while since I had something to update.
But yesterday I was able to pick up my drivetrain. The engine was completely re-built and overhauled including new 40 over Pistons cam lifters oil pump. The three speed trans was overhauled as well with all new bearings and gears as well as the transfer case.
