Well let's update this thing a bit.

Truck's been back on the road since the beginning of April.

Just finished redoing my rear bumper for the third time. This time so it was stought enough to tow my tent trailer with. Here's a link to some pics of the bumper - http://classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2105818&posted=1#post2105818

Here's the finished project. Still have to wire the brake controller and 7 way plug;

My big winter project was swapping to hydroboost from my power brakes. New explorer pump, lee's fitting and a new ps box also went in. I have great brakes and 1 finger steering at idle even with those 37's now. Very happy with them. Here's a link to some questions and answers from the good people at CB that helped me get it done - http://classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=199317

rps20120324_202329_286.jpg

Also traded my stock hardtop for a black bestop soft top with the zip out side and rear windows. My hardtop was in excellent shape but I was never going to use it. Went to a good home for a stocker project. Soft top will come in handy while camping with the tent trailer this summer. Top off is fun but the kids get a lil crispy on long drives.

Managed to get some turnbuckles rigged up as windshield to roll bar supports. Wish i did this way before. So nice to not have the windshield banging around all the time. If you havent done this on your rig yet I would shoot it to the top of your list. Gotta be one of the best bang for the buck mods out there.

Next up is to build some seat backs for those dodge journey rear seats and paint & install my tailgate latch before a big local father's day car show here.

Wow;

Looks really good.

I also see you know Phil (Bronco P).

I should be done mine in a month, we should all hook up.

Absolutely. I just got back from the northwestclassicbroncos.com meet n greet down in washington last weekend. Got me motivated to do something similar on our side of the border. Pass the link on to anyone you may think is interested;

Good luck down your final stretch!

That sounds like a great idea, we probably know all the same guys in town;

Phil, Ulysses, Enrico, Bob, Gary are all the owners I know personally, but I'm sure there are more.

Did my first trip with the tent trailer. All good in terms of towing once I got the brake controller all dialed in. I did manage to tweak the frame where the upper trac bar mount is. And yes I was using a trac bar drop bracket. Wasn't ideal but I didn't intend on doing a 1 ton tro when I initially started the build. I knew I was gonna have to swap to a riser eventually. So after pushing the top mount into the frame a bit now was the perfect time!

Got a piece of 3/16" plate bent up for me to sleeve over the original lower mount and then reinforced the upper mount with a piece of plate after bending it back into place and welding all around it.

Just need to figure out a bump stop now. I might just cut down the one I have from wildhorses and then thread the frame and put it up there.

And I do have jam nuts on my drag link. I had to shorten it a bit as I couldn't turn full lock to the left. Once I adjusted it to where I wanted it I had no adjustment room or room for jam nuts for that matter, so I picked up a new threaded insert and its good to go now.

Got some seat backs being made for those Journey rear seats. Made a template up for the guy who works here; http://www.plasticworks.ca/catalog/

He's cutting them out from some 1/4" black ABS that has a crinkle pattern to it. Should match the front door panels pretty close. Should have pics of them installed by the end of the weekend.

Hammer I would like to see a picture of your journey seats folded up. This has been my plan for mine and you are now done. I just would like to see how much room you have once folded up and how the seats themselves fold.

Okay well they fold down by pulling up on the straps that are located at the top middle of each seat. They fold down independent of each other. When they fold down the head rests fold inwards as well. There is a long strap at the back of each one to pull them back up when standing outside the vehicle. In a journey they do fold down flat. In order for them to fold flat in my Bronco I would of had to either raise the backs off the floor or lower the seat. I didn't want the ass of the seat sitting on the ground and folding flat wasn't of upmost priority for me as this is not my daily driver and aside from a set of golf clubs i don't really haul any cargo in it. If i take it camping, everything goes in the trailer. But if folding flat was of priority you could make it work.

Mine fold to 20 degrees. The seat/bench bottom is 3 inches off the floor. The seat/bench top is 8 inches off the floor. I would be willing to bet that if I dropped the bench and inch, they would fold flat. Or if i just dropped the back of the bench an inch and it had a bit more rake to it, they would fold flat.

Looks great!!

How's the height on those ranger seats? Are you staring into the window frame?

The height is good. they're mounted on the stock bronco seat mounts & sliders. they are basically the same seat hight as stock. pics on pg 13.

That is awesome thanks alot. I appreciate it. I have my diesel with a longbed if i need to haul stuff. I just was curious how the fold down worked on em. My dad had an 89 XLT bronco with the fold and tumble rear seat and I loved that. So I may try to integrate that design into my 75. He also had a 78' so hes pretty stoked that I bought an EB. Hes never owned one but always liked em.

Was pretty thrilled to find these on a local 4x4 forum. Saves me having to build a set and they are much straighter than my current doors. Just need some paint and they'll allow me to run a 6 1/4" speaker in the door panel and eliminate the window crank inside. Winter project = tunes.

Currently working on a stereo system. Got a pioneer deck mounted into the dash. Plan is 6.5" speakers in custom door panels. I needed something that I could swap between both sets of doors. I will be building some custom boxes for 6x9's in the back, something like these http://www.quadratec.com/products/14031_5X_PG.htm but ones that actually fit the bronco. 200 watt rockford amp will be mounted under the passenger front seat driving one of these in the back http://www.bazooka.com/products/mob...14---BT-Series-10-inch-4-ohm-Passive-Tube-P17. Not crazy about the bazooka tube but figure it will work well enough. I wanted something small and easily removable if I needed the space. It fit the bill. Goal is to have a decent sounding stereo not anything super crazy. If it craps out I'll put a better sub in the tube.

Anyways here's the custom door panels that I'm working on right now;

Finished my door panels. Very happy with the look. Lot more work than I was planning on though. Didn't make it any better that I used a primer that didn't like a cleaner that I used and that caused me to have to re strip them and start again. Lots of sanding.

Bad new is that I screwed up and my window cranks don't clear. I took that into consideration when I placed the pods on the door. I made sure the cranks cleared then. My speakers were to deep for the pods so i added a 1/2" mdf ring. Because it was just making them protrude a half inch further out from the door i didn't think it would matter. But that combined with the trim ring on the speaker makes them hit.

Not sure what my solution is.

*update* - man I love the internet - solution '63-'67 ford galaxy had a smaller window crank that controlled the wing window; http://www.ebay.com/itm/1963-1964-G...Parts_Accessories&hash=item43b71796a4&vxp=mtr

ended up ordering these - http://www.ebay.com/itm/321043742778?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648
