Despite the heat, I got started on my Classic Auto air conditioning system. Making that access is the BEST IDEA EVER! I cannot imagine installing AC with the dash in and no access panel! I've had enough for today, hopefully I can get started a little earlier tomorrow. This morning we had to take our mini-Aussie to the vet, she had a bad cough, wound up being bronchitis~ poor little thing, so that put me into the heat by the time we got home.

You ever get through the day~ what did I get done? lol As for the headliner, it's just kind of like an expensive cardboard cut out, so I bought some headliner fabric, foam backed and did the back area for now. I'd like to trim the edge somehow, still thinking on that idea. I'd like another metal trim which goes from side to side, to have 2 of them. Then I attached some vent hoses to the evaporator, and I'm sure I did something else!
I have a friend coming over tomorrow, he likes to check on my progress from time to time~ it's fun having visitors;)

Hi! I came to the reasoning that the Bronco didn't need to be on the lift or the hot part of my garage. My husband, my brother and I moved the Bronco into the Air conditioned garage` there I can focus on electrical, hard top glass, etc. Other, I bled the brakes, installed the power steering pump. No, it's not ready to start the engine:(

Looks great out in the light of day😍

Gary appears to be very happy in there.....between your daughter and husband you might need to hide the keys to retain possession after all your hard work!

Thank you Lubr and Donley;) IT's been 13 months!! If it hadn't been for the summer heat, I'd probably would have been done with it~ but I do worry a bit not having a project. I think my next project (getting ahead of myself), really clean the garage!
dne' ;)

I went ahead and put the front bumper on, just clearing floor space~ there are welded on brackets already on the bumper; thinking maybe some nice looking fog lights? Nothing gawdy, more for looks;)

Wow, you made my day! ;) I'd like to think I make an impression on them, that one day they'll look back and remember naynay (that's what they call me) as a really cool person, not just sitting in a rocking chair~ just trying to make memories so they can recall who I am, or was when that day arises.

Dne, you have to be the coolest grandma around. I bet the kids love to come visit. :)

Where is the starter solenoid supposed to be mounted? I hate putting holes in my inner fenders:(

Me too. Go to an aftermarket starter with an integrated solenoid and not it give it a second thought. Other option is to mount as much stuff as you can to the 6 cylinder notch behind the intake and make a cover for all of it. Then it’s hidden and out of sight. it’s a great location for solenoid, ignition box, coil, power distribution strip ect.

If the factory holes are still there, they were in at least two different locations, if not three over the years.
Most, if not all EB’s had them mounted on the passenger wheel well.
Early models up to 69 or 70 had the two screw holes for the starter relay/solenoid on the the surface facing the engine. Very near the front edge.
After that it was moved around the corner to the flat surface facing the battery.

Not sure if the factory ever used another location, but it’s common on custom builds to move it to other less obvious places. Sometimes on the firewall as was described, sometimes just over on the passenger side of the firewall, and sometimes literally behind the battery. I don’t think it should be so hidden you can't access it when you need to, but it does clean things up.

For me sometimes its easier to see where the wires end up. If you are using a factory harness it might save some wire stripping/crimping going back to the factory location. If its all custom anyway it just doesn't seem to matter that much.
