Judy, that will be up and running for the Roundup?

Bill, how's the work on the racer coming?

Well that is our hope to be able to have it done for next year's Round Up.

Racer? Is he suppose to be doing something on a racer? Hee Hee Hee I think we got moving on the engine block.........oh, excuse me, we just moved the engine block. Does that count?

This weekends progress started alittle earlier last week with some building onto the frame.

Had to remove some POR-15 to add the radius arm brackets.

There, doesn't that look nice?

That was a good place to end for the week and we looked forward to the weekend for a lot more build progress. But, we had some items still left to go on the frame.

Now that is starting to look great!

So now outside to the body and let's take a closer look at what we have to work with. Okay, the last owner of this rig was a BONDO king because upon closer investigation we found almost no solid metal at all. So off with the bed.

Time to bring in the donor bed.

With a little adjustment to this bed with a sawzall......we have exactly what we need.

This is where I went through 250 pounds of blasting sand and got it all cleaned up.....pic was posted earlier by BMC (thanks sweetie).

With that taken care of, we need to get the tailgate fixed up to go on it.

A little cutting should take care of that rusty area.

Got that done, now add a little metal and welding to that.

While BMC takes care of that....I need to get these guys cleaned up.

That should do it.

Well.....I think that we'll stop here for now. To be continued.

Different don't come cheap in this build. You wouldn't belive - and I hate to admit - what we already have invested in the '49 engine and it still has a good way to go.%) but I can hardly wait to hear it..and hear the first "waddya got in that thing anyways?" so we can pop the hood.;D
