Adjusting modulator valve

I know, i'm sorry about all the questions but i dont know jack about transmissions. I replaced the modulator valve. Its a green stripe one vac hookup. Do you turn the screw to the left to get harder shifts? Right now the shifts are long, letting the clutches slip longer i guess. I want hard shifts emediately. Part didnt come with directions on adjustment.

I'm not sure which way to turn but it doesnt make the shifts harder it just changes the RPM's at which it shifts the only thing that makes it shift harder are valve body modifications.
