Long-time lurker here, so grateful for this incredible forum and how much it's helped me. I am on week 16 of waiting for my BC soft top, so spending some time getting the Bronco as ready as I can for it.
I had some Sport-style interior panels (the aftermarket ones from Distinctive), and decided to risk cutting them up. I know that TBP has soft-top ones, but I found these a good bit cheaper, with cheaper shipping, so I thought I would try it.
They are already scored for the "bend" over the hardtop bolts, so I cut along the lower scoring line, through the cardboard.

I then trimmed the foam between the vinyl and the cardboard even with the cardboard, and pulled the vinyl tight over the back of the panel, securing it with spray adhesive. That's all super simple, and probably not worth a post.

I also wanted to find a way to incorporate speakers into the cardboard panels. I began by cutting some 1/2" plywood to act as braces for the speakers. I used cardboard templates to get them the right size, then cut out the speaker holes for them. With the plywood speaker braces in place, I used one screw to secure the quarter panel trim to the plywood brace, then removed both together. From the back, I was able to trace out the speaker cutout from the plywood to the quarter panel.

Simple enough, and other than the painful expense of purchasing these in the first place, it turned out nice enough.

Thanks again for this being such an incredible place to keep this thing moving forward!
