I am planning in rewiring my 75. I have read several different threads about it.
Abiut which harness is best.
I am currently running sniper efi, electric fans, stereo and am wanting to replace my gages. I also have a single wire alt with several light circuits.
I am looking for recommendations for harness. When I did my mustang I had similar features and used a Painless harness. It was good, but I threw away about 50 percent t of the harness.
Would I be better off to just use a generic harness and fuse block and adjust for my needs?
Will some.of you guys please post pics of where you mounted your fuse blocks and relays. I want everything clean and accessible.

Best is a very broad question.

At this point you are going to get bombarded with what everyone has used. Since they used it, it has to be the best.

I know shops that only install one brand. Is that brand the best for every job they do? No. But it is the harness that they know. When you install it all the time you learn what oddities it has and how to make them work.

You have experience with Painless. Your biggest gripe is there was more than you needed in the harness. Way better than not enough. That would make that as a good benchmark to compare the other to.

When I did mine there was enough non-stock that a Bronco specific harness was looking like there would be a fair amount of rework. So I did a universal harness. You make it do what you want it to do. I was happy with it.

There are things I do like about painless over other brands (I used them as well). The quality of the fuse block was rather good. Some look a lot more like a high school science kit. But people sometimes like that.

Many years ago I remember a neighbor doing a Kaiser hot rod. It was actually the first universal aftermarket wiring harness I ever saw. He got one that was all black wires. At first I thought that would be the biggest pain ever. In the end I ended up liking it. It hid itself very nice. And was the first time I saw wires labeled as to what they do. The painless kit was even nicer in that the labels stated which end of the wire went to what.

So my vote is Painless, Universal or Bronco specific up to you.

Fans of other brands will chime in as well.

Centech is very basic, large wait list to get right now... Accessories, well you would need another fuse panel for them.

AAW has provisions for the Accessories you mentioned, I think it is pretty easy to install and as stated, I have done a few, so...

Never have done a Painless, but everyone speaks highly of them, lots of engineering put in the Bronco kit with this Site's input. Very complete.

When I put a 5.0L from an '88 F150 XLT into a friend's '75, I put the donor truck's wiring harness in, too. I deleted the ABS and maybe a couple other systems, but kept PW, PL, cruise, A/C, interval wipers... I also added RKE/start, rear defrost, rear dome lamp & cargo lamp... It worked perfectly, and looked stock because it was - just not stock for a '75, but the truck didn't look that old any more, either.
