Old school here when it comes to my Bronco, just don't trust dropping it off and not knowing how things are getting done and the older you get the harder it is to do some of that old school stuff. Got some lazy school going on with my new truck I refuse to change my own oil or wash it but hey its not a bronco.

I do my own whenever I can. I've rebuilt my own C4 and motor but have had the diffs done. No oil change and brake shops for me. It's not the cost savings that matters. I've worked in some of those shops and will only trust my cars to myself.;)

I am a dying breed. I like to work on my Bronco. Although I will send in my transmission before I decide to install the C4 and I sent my power steering gear box in to be rebuilt.

I grew up with some very smart men in my family that did not wrench too much. I thought I would do something they couldn't, so I pursued working on cars as a hobby. My passion ran strong, I thought by my age now I would know it all and own all the right tools to build cars at home and own a small car lot to retire with. Well now I am over 50, still wrenching on my own stuff but not anyone else's. I have several fun project vehicles and love to work on them. I also have a butt load of tools, just lost the fun in working, time, money, family, aches and pains have made me enjoy a simple Harley ride on the weekend more than wrenching some days. I have almost completed a four year resto on my Bronco and now that it runs and looks awesome, I have lost some interest... dying breed!

There is no "dying breed". Just lack of desire. The job market is wide open right now for people just out of trade schools. I'm also on a Classic Mustang forum that is loaded with 18-20 year olds and new members are joining here every day.
