Many great reviews on the Blueprint engines.
I am interested in their mid level 408W.

I presently have a 351W ATK engine that I have modded through the years but the short block is still all ATK.
25+ years and going strong.

So I would say both are great.

I am trying to figure out a way to afford that Blueprint 408W, lol.

Happy to answer any questions you may have, and thanks for the consideration. We sell 306, 347, and 408's to bronco guys every day!

Hey Vincen,

just mention to your salesman if you need the pan changed. We change them for bronco owners all the time if needed.

I have the 408w ATK - I love it. I had them use an explorer water pump and used my own balancer - to use the explorer front dress. Run it with your favorite TBI and have fun.

Maybe 15k miles on it - great motor.

Not sure of the price difference but also worth looking at

Tnk

I am in the market for a crate motor and have read some sketchy reviews on Blueprint but that was six years ago. I hope the quality has improved. Of course I need the rear sump oil pickup for the Bronco. ATK has good reviews. The main issue for is customer service after the sale. If there is a problem, fix it. I’m sure they are both good. Whatever I choose I will make sure to provide a review. Just ready to get back on the road.

I have used ATK Twice and they have been good engines. One engine I had (non Bronco application) had an assembly error during their rebuilding of the engine. They stood up for their product. Admitted it was their fault and replaced the engine. No hiss, no squawk just stood up and replaced it. The old engine was picked up in my driveway the next day shipped to their facility disassembled found the problem and replacement engine shipped to my door within 3 weeks. Since I did my own install I was out the labor, time and materials for the change out. But that is all specified in their warranty.
This failure it was very obvious to the problem and that may have contributed to the ease of getting a replacement.
I would use ATK again.

Blue Print to be fair, I have no comment, I have never used them and have nothing to compare to.

Brining this one back to life. Recently been having issues with my motor. Been lookin at crate engines and have noticed blueprint is quite pricey. Anyone able to justify the price cost vs quality between the two companies? I’m gonna keep it 302. Prob transfer some of my parts over and go with a base engine set up with less dress up. Trying to avoid any more headaches with engines, so looking for any advice.

The blueprint 306 I put in my Bronco is great. I also just put an ATK in my jeep and it seems fine too.

Purchased an ATK 351w hp09m a year and a half ago ago for my build. Had it installed at a shop since I did not have the equipment to do it. All went well driving it short distances locally. I took the Bronco, a year ago today, with 13 mi on the engine, to the Bronco corral event at Homestead Racetrack. While running laps on the track with the rest of the Broncos, the engine failed limped off the track back to the corral.. Brought it back home and had no compression on the #2 cylinder, had a bent a valve. ATK had me replace the valve, still no compression. ATK stood behind their warranty and picked up the old engine sent me a new engine and paid the company to pull the old one and reinstall the new one at ATK book rate. Also paid for the parts (valve and gaskets for me) in diagnosing. New one now has about 1000 miles with no issues. Follow their break-in procedures and keep receipts. Also do not go any further in troubleshooting than the manufacturer tells you to, such as pulling the heads to see what actually failed, this will void your warranty!

I guess technically a 0.040 overbore makes it a 307/308! 306 is a 0.030 overbore.

It's just a point I feel should be made. A 302 should be called a 302, a 289 should be called a 289. If we have to recognize engines by each .010 overbore, we're all buggered!
Why is Blueprint making this confusing?
