My guess is you’re probably fine. Driveline angle becomes an issue at some point in the rear. Since you’re running a 6R80 you could get speed off of the Quick 6, but it’s probably simpler to get it off of the tailhousing. Just make sure you have the right speedometer setup (find out whether or not you need a VSS).

On my build I went with the short tailhousing because I’m pulling speed from GPS, and I’ll use the Quick 6 as the fallback if I need it. However, I’m going with a high pinion rear, so driveline angle is not a concern. I’m also using the Speed Gems adapter.

I will be following you in regard to the 7.3 in about 18 months. But I just want to drive my bronco for a year or 2 before I move to Colorado from Ga. Van Tumblin is in process of installing the 6r80, atlas and monster 2.5 suspension 4 link and long arm swap as we speak. He had to do the 2-inch body lift for clearance as the speed gems pushing tranny back as opposed to cutting tunnel. which seems fine as it should give him a tad more clearance for the atlas, and we would have probably had to do the body lift for the 7.3 install down the road. Van has cut a lot off the outer perimeter of the speed gems plate for clearance of the BC bronco shorty headers as they run tight with zero clearance but seems the shaving was no bueno. we may have to go to different headers, or he will work his magic.

I thought the BC Headers would have fit. That’s too bad. I was going with custom fenderwell headers, but now with the 7.3L everything changes. On the bright side, the 6R80 integration should be a breeze. I’ll be selling my Speed Gems adapter soon. I’ll still be installing a 2 inch body lift. It seems to help with a lot of issues and will also give me more clearance for future coilovers.
