Hey guys, Hoping someone can steer me right. I have little knowledge in this area.
I have two broncos, both with mismatched front to rear axel ratios
My 72 has a 4.11 rear, big bearing posi unit
and a 3.50 dana 44 up front.

My 66 has a 3.50 rear, small bearing , open unit
and a 4.10 dana 44 up front.

Can I switch out the third members from both rear ends to the other. I would rather not switch the entire axels. ( brake set up etc.)

Thanks for any and all help.

Well, Im sure the 66 rear is a 28 spline but I would have to check the 72 rear end.
Oh yeah, Whats involved in the swap?

Pull the axles, drop the driveshaft, unbolt and remove the third members...reverse to reinstall. Check your axle bearings, seals, etc and refill with clean diff lube. It doesn't get much easier than a 9".
