The reduced noise exhaust option was a tailpipe that had an extra bend so that exhaust, and noise, exited out the rear. It was required in some urban locations.

Interesting. So the standard exhaust went straight out the side? And the reduced noise version faced rearward?
Never knew that, and only saw the latter on Broncos with original exhaust around here. For your stated reason most likely...
Wonder if we can find any pictures of both original types.

Here's a picture of my "pre-ranger" Ranger with the reduced noise exhaust, this was a pretty unmodified truck before it burned to the ground.

The end was turned back to point to the rear. It was required in certain DSO’s to meet noise requirements. I have seen them on Broncos in a lot of the Ford literature. Here is a drawing of both.

"It’s odd that the Marti shows “reduced noise exhaust system” but it has the standard rear pipe"

To your point, that does seem odd that it doesn't match Marti report with almost no miles on it!

Well, I guess I have seen both of those types after all. Can’t say I’ve ever seen one like yours though chuddy.
Thanks for the pic of yours, and the great diagrams Slowleak.

The seller added this - "Are the tires and exhaust 100% original? They are."

I think Ford was just being euphemistic and was making the standard exhaust sound exotic and worth more money.
When all they meant was that they were actually installing some tubing and a muffler behind the exhaust manifold!

lol wouldn't doubt it

Would someone explain this comment? Nothing meant negative about the comment or the poster, i just dont know what they mean about not liking newly registered folk. The bidding seems normal, not small increments, but i may be ignorant to standard unspoken rules...???

"Woty79 This author's likes: 15

I always hate bidding against newly registered folks. Cool bronco nonetheless" .......

I have never bid or sold on BaT, but watch it quite a bit. I also have a few vehicles I am restoring that i think i want to put on BaT for sale/auction.

Here is the listing related to the comment, its currently one of the last couple comments on the listing/sale.

The implication is that new bidders are shill bidders, artificially increasing the bid, typically done by the seller or sellers friends.

I had a chuckle at this -
"A Lecarra steering wheel sits ahead of a 100-mph speedometer encircled by auxiliary gauges for voltage, fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure."
Who writes this stuff and for whom?

I can answer this one. I put mt Mustang Jr on BAT recently, first time I've ever sold on there. So what they do is assign a "Auction Specialist" to work with you, I'd provide a description (in my words) and they would fluff it up to sound even better. And I've got to admit they are pretty good at it!

:)

I would very much like to see the buyer use all 100mph of that speedometer and their reaction.

^^^^ THIS! At 85 MPH the pucker factor is real. Can’t even imagine going past 85, much less 100. Mind you, I’m not afraid of speed in/on the right vehicle. Had a sport bike that consistently was at 120 and several occasions saw 155.
I would rather run that bike at 155 than an EB at 85. But that’s just me.

Previous owner told me he would do 120 with the Rancho overdrive, I couldn’t get there. It did drive great at 100.

agreed. The sellers comments at the end were interesting.
I thought so as well. I don't want to bash it as it may be just what the buyer wanted but I have never seen this quality sell for that much. Especially with the softer market we are in.
