Sounds great! At least you have a transmission. For some stupid reason this is the first thing I am buying.

Thanks for sticking with us. :)

Look guys, we have 3 days left and are nowhere near where we (agreed) we're supposed to be. Time to step up!

thebroncoranch will screw you over just like she did to us the last mass buy for the optishift, don't trust her, she's a little beeitch! The only one out of 23 who didn't keep her word. personally I can't believe she has the balls to actually pull it again! good luck with that one guys

Well, I hope you are wrong. I'm not jumping to conclusions until close of business on Friday. Everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately we have already had a few that had committed back out.

buckintone, although I appreciate your feelings as we have had a few back out. It might be for some reasons that are personal that people back off. Although they're intentions were true at the beginning, somtimes life happens. Unexpected expenses come up every so often. I just wish everyone was good like you and that were independently wealthy and only worked because it's a hobby... Give it time, the buy isn't over. If not everyone is able to commit, I could care less. I got mine for less than I would have had it not been for the ones who have come through. Please don't take any offense to this as I was only trying to view the glass half full and not half empty.

ok, guys.............how about some quick answers to push me into joining this mass buy ?

controller = 500 +/-
transmission = 500 +/-
adapter = ????
tranny mount = 150 +/-
other costs I don't know about = ????

and by the way, there are three kinds of people in the world
- those that look at the glass as half full
- those that look at the glass as half empty
- those that take the water out of other people's glasses

which are you ?

:D

Mine is half full....

Adaptor is about $500 from TBP. It is an expense but I hear it's worth it. I've had mine for a while (slowly put it together so it be a huge one time expense) and I'm looking forward to seeing the outcome. If you're gonna do it, jump on the deals that will save you some $$. Completely up to you...

I should have mentioned I am planning to keep D20 which (I believe) means you have to buy the adapter, just uncertain ?

what about drive shaft lenghts ?

I'm thinking the rear shortened and the front needs to be lengthened. But soon will find out first hand.

You also have the option of going the ZF adapter route rather than the traditional route. This will save about $130, prevent the need to replace the output shaft,prevent the oiler modification, and allow for future transfer case upgrades. All you have to do is chop about 1/2" off the output shaft and bolt it together. The ZF is shorter than the D20-4R adapter so I am not sure how that affects the 2.5" the transfer case is typically set back which necessitates these driveshaft mods. All together I am estimating my build to cost approximately $1,200 but that is without the cost of modifying driveshafts. For that I would add about $140 so let's say $1340. This is the first part I am buying for this swap since it is one of the most expensive. The adapter will be next.
