I have My Gramps 69 Bronco that used to fly across the desert 30 mph faster than i dared or could actually, in my 1957 M38= A1 Military CJ5 looking jeep, it had a bad little solid lifter 283 chevy w/turbo 400 manual valve bodied, fenderwhelled headers puring out the sides like a little AC Cobra, and had 13 LEAVES ON TOP of the axles for a 6 inch lift, that actually only lifted the body and engine, not the ground clearance of the diff at all, while my Grandpas Bronco was far less exciting curb appeal(to me then) but wasnt sky high but had fender wells cut out and flared, backing down a huge hillclimg was really scary in my jeep! The Bronco could get far more sideways before it was going over and you could feel te top heavyness of being lifted 6 inches as I went 35 mph across the desert with all I could do to do that felt ready to flip or lose it! My grandpa and his old farts with 351's and top loaders flew by me with their crazy sirens, air horns oggas horns etc , making me mad too! WTH? I got back in town on the fwy my steering was getting loose? vague? pulling into a parking spot, why steering wheel just spun loose like the gilligans island boat wheel! the pitman arm, drag link garbage just let go! had it done so on the freeway especially lifted,WOW, and driving in the rain and locking up the brakes was really scary, RR tracks at speed, big rigs going by, even pulling into gas stations at an angled slapped my head with the rool bar on the left side of my head really hard too, from exagerated lift multiplied the range of me at the end, like riding a skateboard while standing on a 6 ft A frame ladder bolted atop it. I say big tires and cut the metal!
